Change Me…

As human beings we are very quick to be judgmental of others. We can easily see what someone in doing wrong.  We readily notice a person’s flaws and short comings, without taking an inventory of our own flaws and imperfections. The Bible has something to say about that.

Matthew 7:3-5

New International Version (NIV)

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Before we begin to judge others, we must first look at ourselves and ask God to change anything in us that is not pleasing to Him. I believe we will all be surprised by how much God finds. Our only responsibility, during the process of God changing us, is to keep our eyes on Him.

Psalm 51:7-12

New International Version (NIV)

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness;
    let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins
    and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
    and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
    or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
    and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Our prayer for each day: Father God, please search my heart. If you find anything that needs to be changed, I give you permission to do what you have to do for your will to be done in my life. You are the Potter and I am the clay.

Oh Happy Day

Today’s devotional is dedicated to Glen Campbell. When he found Jesus it changed his whole life. I wanted to share his testimony with you today.

Article Credit: Guideposts Classics: Glen Campbell on God’s Grace / October 15, 2014

Glen: It was during the 1970s that I had begun using cocaine, and I became addicted almost immediately. This may sound strange, but the worse my drinking and drugging became, the more I prayed and studied the Bible.

Some would say I was a hypocrite, and I guess I couldn’t blame them. But I felt like a drowning man grasping for a life preserver. Somehow I knew there was only one way out of the mess I had made of my life. I was searching for that truth to save me.

I grew up in a Christian home back in Delight, Ark. Even though Daddy and Mama got us to church regularly, I had never been baptized. So in December of 1981, about a year before Kim and I were married, we flew to Arkansas, where I asked my brother Lindell, a Church of Christ preacher, to baptize us.

It was freezing cold, four days before Christmas, but I wanted to be baptized like the Christians of old—fully immersed. I stripped down to my blue jeans and waded into Saline Creek, my childhood swimming hole.

Once, when I was two, I fell into a slough and nearly drowned. It was Lindell who resuscitated me on the muddy red bank.

When the baptism was over, Kim and I sat in Lindell’s truck, shivering under a mound of blankets as I sang “Oh Happy Day.” I couldn’t help thinking back to when Lindell had saved my life as a little boy. Now, so many years later, I was hoping to be saved again.

You Are God Alone

On several occasions, I have been asked when my love of the Lord started and why am I so passionate about music and worship.

The first part of my answer is always that when I was in my darkest place the Lord rescued me. The second part of the answer of why music and worship are so important is because we were created to worship.

Several scriptures in the bible indicate that the elders and the angels continually worship God. My favorite scripture passage is Revelations 4.

Be blessed today. Find ways to worship God throughout the day. Whether it’s in your speech, your actions or your reactions. Do your best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to make God look good today. As we know, everything  we do is for our growth or for God’s glory.

Revelation 4

New Living Translation (NLT)

Worship in Heaven

Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” And instantly I was in the Spirit,[a] and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow.Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit[b] of God. In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal.

In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying,

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever),10 the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,

11 “You are worthy, O Lord our God,
    to receive glory and honor and power.
For you created all things,
    and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

With Long Life, He Will Satisfy Me…

Good morning – It’s Monday morning which means that it is time to go to the Throne Room of Grace.

PRAYER: Father, God, thank you for waking us up this morning and allowing us to be used by You, always for Your Glory or for our growth.

Help us to be sensitive and obedient to your voice. Watch over our families as we go about our week. Protect us from all of the traps, snares and tricks of the enemy.

We lift you up, Father, and give the Living Trinity the Highest praise.

In the name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Psalm 91:9-16

New International Version (NIV)

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

We Serve A Great God!!!!

Good morning, Good Morning, Good Morning!!

You know what day it is……

It’s High Praise Friday. Which means it’s time to move the tables, chairs or any furniture or objects that may be in the way of you giving God your BEST PRAISE.

Once again, we have come to the end of another week where The Trinity (God, The Father, God, The Son and God, The Holy Spirit) showed up strong.

I would love to hear any praise and victory reports that you would like to share.

Testifying and sharing the goodness of God can  strengthens others. You never know who may be going through the exact same thing that you are going through. Someone may say, “If God did it for that person then maybe He can do it for me too.”

Here are just a few scriptures about testifying:

Psalm 22:22  I will praise you to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify of the wonderful things you have done.

Psalm 66:16 Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.

John 15:26-27 “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father— the Spirit of Truth, who comes from the Father—he will testify on my behalf. You will testify also, because you have been with me from the beginning.

1 John 1:2-3 This life was revealed to us, and we have seen it and testify about it. We declare to you this eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us. What we have seen and heard we declare to you so that you, too, can have fellowship with us. Now this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus, the Messiah.

Psalm 35:28 My tongue will declare your righteousness and praise you all day long.

Daniel 4:2 “I want you all to know about the miraculous signs and wonders the Most High God has performed for me.”

Praise God. Ok, it’s time to get our praise on. Please enjoy today’s praise video by Deitrick Haddon and The League of Extrordinary Worshippers (LXW) entitled, “Great God.”

I Will Walk Where He Leads Me…

Matthew 11:28-30

New King James Version (NKJV)

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Trust has to be earned. It is hard for most of us to blindly trust someone unless we have a personal relationship with them.

Years ago, as a person young in the faith, I was always taught to trust God. The only problem was that even though I accepted Jesus, the Christ, as my Lord and Savior, I didnt have a relationship with him. Initially, I copied what everyone was doing in church. If they said, “Praise the Lord,” then so would I.

Over time, I began to feel empty, like I was just “playing church.” I remember going through some hard trials. One day I was just crying uncontrollably. I said, “God if you are real, show me how to have my own relationship with you. I want to know you for myself.”

I was born in Knoxville, TN. I was raised on gospel music. My father played the keyboards for the church choir. There was one song that came back to my memory, the day thay I was crying and upset. The song was entitled, “His Yoke is Easy.”

Through my tears I began to sing that song and I fell to my knees. I heard what the songwriter was saying. From that day forward, I knew God for myself. He spoke to my heart through music and still does to this day.

Now I walk with assurance knowing that God is ordering my steps. As the scripture says:

Habakkuk 3:19

19 The Lord God is my strength.
    He makes ·me like a deer (hinds feet) that does not stumble [L my feet like a deer’s]
    so I can walk on the ·steep mountains [heights].

I Woke Up This Morning…

Psalm 5:1-3

New King James Version (NKJV)

A Prayer for Guidance

Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my meditation.
Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
For to You I will pray.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.

People say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast gives energy to tackle the day head-on. Dieticians say that a good breakfast also gets the metabolism going.

Starting the day with God is equally as important. Seeking God in the morning gets our spiritual metabolism going so that we can have the substance we need to conquer our day with victory. Amen!!!

There have been days when my spirit was craving time with God, but because I was rushing and didn’t set aside time, my day just felt “off.”

If you are not in the habit of spending time with God, starting a routine is very easy. Start off your day by just saying, “Thank You, Lord. I Love You. Teach me how you would like for me to spend my time with you.” Then close your eyes, slow your breathing…and just listen. You may have an urge to start humming, or you may have an urge to start reading the bible. Everyone is different. Don’t box yourself in or make it hard. Just show up and be available to listen.

Oh Taste and See…

submit-to-god-and-you-will-have-peace-quote-1.jpg

Psalm 34:8

New King James Version (NKJV)

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.

Happy Tuesday Morning. We praise God this morning for a brand new day. Yet one more day that we get to lift our voices and hands to heaven to say, “Thank You, Lord.”

What are you thankful for today?

How has God blessed you?

How has God made a way, when you thought there was no way?

When you thought you were all alone, when did you realize that God was waiting patiently for you, with love and mercy?

All that was needed was time for our will to line up with God’s word. As the Lord’s Prayer reminds us, “Your WILL be done, on earth (that means US) as it is in heaven.”

Once I learned how to pray, doors began to fly open, blessings came from all directions, but more importantly the most precious thing I received, as I learned to pray for the Lord’s will to be done, the most precious gift was a peace. An unspeakable, unshakable, Beautiful peace.

The Lord was just waiting for me to put MY AGENDA away and submit to His will for my life. When I let go…my life was forever changed.

A New Day is Dawning…

Hebrews 4:14-16

Living Bible (TLB)

14 But Jesus the Son of God is our great High Priest who has gone to heaven itself to help us; therefore let us never stop trusting him. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses since he had the same temptations we do, though he never once gave way to them and sinned. 16 So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.

Good morning to All. I hope this Monday morning finds you blessed and ready to take on the day. We like to start each Monday with a prayer. Let us go to the Throne Room together.

Father God, Living Trinity:

We come to you this morning, thanking and praising you, for allowing us one more chance to tell the world of Your goodness. We place our lives on your alter and in your hands. We trust your will and your Word for our lives.

There are many students starting school this week. Father, protect and watch over our children. We know that the enemy will try very hard to derail our children from their destiny, but right now, God, we plead the powerful blood of Your son, Jesus, to protect and cover them.

Father, dispatch your angels to fight in the unseen realm on their behalf. Surround our children, whether they are going to Pre-K or to college, with people that have a heart for you.

We thank you Lord for your faithfulness toward us. Use us today for your glory. Let our spirit be keenly sensitive to your voice. May we willingly say, “Yes” to whatever you have called us to do or say.

We seal this prayer and send it to our Chief Intercessor, Jesus, the Christ. Amen, Amen and Amen.

Please enjoy today’s worship video from Richard Smallwood entitled  “Total Praise.”

Have a great day, Everybody.

This IS the Day…

We have come to the last post for the week, so you know what that means!!! That’s right, on Friday’s we give God high and energetic Praises!!!

The Book of Psalms is filled with songs to God. One of my favorite passages is Psalm 118:24, which proclaims, “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us be GLAD and REJOICE in it.”

Psalm 118:14-24

Living Bible (TLB)

  14 He is my strength and song in the heat of battle, and now he has given me the victory. 15-16 Songs of joy at the news of our rescue are sung in the homes of the godly. The strong arm of the Lord has done glorious things! 17 I shall not die but live to tell of all his deeds. 18 The Lord has punished me but not handed me over to death.

19 Open the gates of the Temple[a]—I will go in and give him my thanks. 20 Those gates are the way into the presence of the Lord, and the godly enter there. 21 O Lord, thank you so much for answering my prayer and saving me.

22 The stone rejected by the builders has now become the capstone of the arch![b] 23 This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous to see!

24 This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Ok, it’s time to move the furniture out of the way. If the kids are up, call them into the room. We are going to join Fred Hammond today, as we give PRAISES to God. Today’s worship song is entitled, “This is the Day.”

Be blessed today and know that I love you ALL with an AMAZING LOVE. Ok, let’s praise God!!!!
