A Ram in the Bush…

Genesis 22:9-13

New International Version

When they reached the place God had told him about,(A) Abraham built an altar(B) there and arranged the wood(C) on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar,(D) on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife(E) to slay his son.(F) 11 But the angel of the Lord(G) called out to him from heaven,(H) “Abraham! Abraham!”(I)

“Here I am,”(J) he replied.

12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God,(K) because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.(L)

13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns.(M) He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.(N)

Our Prayer

Father,

We know that there is nothing too hard for you. We trust You with all our heart. We know that trust can sometimes be scary, especially if we are used to thinking that we are in control of our lives. May our love and faith, in and for you, overwhelm any fear we may have to be able to trust you. Just like Abraham put his love for you first, so will we. We posture our lives, Lord, to be in a continuous mode of prayer that exemplifies your will to being done on earth as it is in heaven. Holy Spirit, walk with us in this journey of faith. We know that God will provide according to His perfect will. May we be at peace with the will of God for our lives. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Greeting, Precious Family:

I pray your day started with joy and thanksgiving to the Lord. Everything may not be the way we envisioned, but that never changes who God is and will always be. There is none greater than our God Jehovah.

Jeremiah 10:6-7

New International Version

No one is like you,(A) Lord;
    you are great,(B)
and your name is mighty in power.
Who should not fear(C) you,
    King of the nations?(D)
    This is your due.
Among all the wise leaders of the nations
    and in all their kingdoms,
there is no one like you.

Judy Jacobs

Our Prayer

Lord Jehovah,

We thank you for being truly the greatest of all time. There is none like you. Whether our days are good or bad, we know that you are God alone. Thank you, for always being with us. Our vows to you are forever. In Jesus name. Amen.

Speak to My Heart…

Holy Greetings, Family:

I pray that you are growing closer in your relationship with the Lord every day. Intimacy through worship, with the Lord, is so essential. I could not write these devotional messages, each week, without hearing from the Lord. I know that I am accountable for each word I write, so being sensitive to the Lord’s voice is a must.

1 Samuel 3:7-10

New International Version

Now Samuel did not yet know(A) the Lord: The word(B) of the Lord had not yet been revealed(C) to him.

8 A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”

Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!(D)

Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Our Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We live and move by every word that comes from you. Help us to continue to posture ourselves for worship, so that we can hear from you. May we become more sensitive each day to your voice, so that we, like Samuel, can respond with, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.” In the name of Jesus we do pray, Amen.

Stay Planted. Don’t Move…

Good morning, Family:

Today is a day of rejoicing. Yes, I know what the world looks like right now, but my joy comes from the Lord. I am nourished and full, from being fed straight from God’s hand. I encourage you, as much as you may want to move or shift, do not move unless the Lord goes before you to prepare a way. Stay planted. I love you and I am continually praying for your strength and faithfulness in the Lord.

Psalm 1:1-3

Amplified Bible

Book One

The Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted.

[a]Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example],
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of [b]scoffers (ridiculers).

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.

And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season;
Its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].

Our Prayer

Spirit of the Living God,

Let us be so saturated in YOU that when its time for our appointed season we would bear GOOD FRUIT. Let us be so saturated in your Word, your Will, and your Way that our FRUIT has no choice but to prosper.

Let it be, according to your WORD, in Jesus name we do pray. Amen.

Timely Throwback of Encouragement…

Good morning, Family:

Every once in a while, I will share past posts that are still timely and true. Today’s particular post is from 2015. Before I started this blog, I would share my heart on Facebook. Many years have past, but the eternal truth of who God Is – is timeless. God bless you all.

Be Encouraged

No one said the Christian lifestyle was easy.
Some days, my flesh wants one thing and my spirit wants another.

Some days, I have a spiritual temper-tantrum, because I want MY WAY.

However, I always remember the abundant peace that is waiting for me, when I surrender my will to God’s way.

Truthfully, some days I cry, but I count it ALL JOY.

God has proven Himself/Itself to be faithful to my heart’s cry.

Usually, when my flesh is craving something, its because there is an area of my life that I have not placed on the “ALTAR”.

Once I give up the struggle and take my hands off, GOD gives me more in return than what my heart longed for initially.

His way comes wrapped in perfect timing and perfect peace.

Be still and wait on the Lord…
He knows ALL ABOUT IT!!!
Be Encouraged. Dont Give Up.

Our Prayer

Heaven Father,

We love you and lift you higher than anyone or anything in our lives. We know that your timing and your ways are perfect. We pray for a heart like yours, so that we can be in tune with your precious Holy Spirit. Grant us patience, as we wait in worship and service, for your perfect will to be done. We lift this prayer to you, in the name of your most beautiful Gift, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I Cannot Stop…

Good morning, Family:

This morning, I woke up and began to have my prayer time. I opened my mouth to pray and I could not stop saying, “Thank you, Lord” over and over again. The flood gates of joy swept over me. I began to get overwhelmed with emotion when each “thank you” seemed to lift me off the ground, in the Spirit. What a precious way to start the morning. Family, we serve an amazing and perfect God. Be sure to give thanks as often as you remember.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

New International Version

16 Rejoice always,(A) 17 pray continually,(B) 18 give thanks in all circumstances;(C) for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Thank You Lord

Our Prayer

Father God,

We lift high and bless your holy and matchless name. There is none like you, Lord, in all the earth, above the earth, or under the Lord. You alone deserve the glory, honor and praise. Father, we say, “Thank You,” this morning. You have covered and protected us from dangers, seen and unseen, that we didn’t even know about. We say, “Thank You.” You gave us favor, even when we were not the most qualified. We say, “Thank you.” Your love for us is never-ending, because you see us through the blood of your Son Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we lift up this Prayer of Thanksgiving to you. Amen, Amen and Amen.

I Am Persuaded…

Romans 8:38-39

King James Version

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our Prayer

Precious Lord,

We lift your name up higher than any other. You held the gates of death, hell, and grave away from us. You set a standard for us to follow, in love and in life. I am persuaded every day that you will not allow evil to endure past its ordained time. This morning, I open my mouth to glorify and bless your name. I am a willing prisoner of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am persuaded to love you with all of my heart, my soul and my whole being. Thank you for your faithfulness toward your people. Thank you for hearing our cries and our prayers. Be with our leaders, Lord, as they seek not their will, but your will Lord. May their eyes be ever on You. In Jesus’s holy name, I pray. Amen.

Daring to Dream…

Good morning, Family:

Today, across America, we celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Originally born Michael, Dr. King’s name was changed to Martin Luther King, after his father learned about the work and message of Catholic monk, Martin Luther. Martin Luther was the father of the Protestant Reformation. His nailing of the 95 Thesis changed the way many believed and consequently gave birth to the Lutheran denomination.

Today, our nation looks back on the work and life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King dared to dream that life could be different. He believed that one day a person’s character would be more important than their color. He believed in the equality of all human beings. He, like so many others that tried to make positive change, gave his life as the ultimate sacrifice to the vision of love he believed in. Today, we lift up the good work he began and we carry the torch on that is burning inside each of us. Make today an amazing day, as you give honor to the legacy and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jrq.

Our Prayer

Our Father,

We bless you and lift up your glorious name. Continue to help our nation walk in love. Continue to not let our hearts be comfortable around injustice and hate. As your children, we have been called to be ambassadors of love and unity. Let us not grow weary of the journey, on the road to hope. Allow each of our lives to be keenly aware of the calling we have before us. Let us not give up, as we continue to dare to dream. Taken from the lines of the song we proudly love to Lift Every Voice and Sing, “Let us march on till victory is won.” In the matches and perfect name of your only begotten Son and our Holy Redeemer, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Where Were You?

Good morning, Precious Family:

I tossed and turned about this post, because I always want it to be uplifting and inspirational. The Lord instructed me to write it yesterday, but I just couldn’t. He mentioned it again last night and I just couldn’t. This morning it was on my heart again so I must share and be obedient to Holy Spirit.

As a minister, my first responsibility is to God. As one who has been given the gifting of being an empath, I am sensitive to your feelings and emotions. I also have the spiritual gifting of edification and prophecy. Sometimes those giftings clash with each other and the result is my truly battling with the words to share. With all of that said, this is the word I was given to share.

To the people who have grieved the heart of God:

In the Garden, I gave you dominion over every beast of the field, air, land, and sea. I never once gave you dominion over another human being that I created. I have watched your hearts grow bold, hard, and evil, as you believed your authority and power were greater than mine. You believed your wisdom was more vast than mine. I will ask you the same question I asked my servant Job (Job 38), who I dearly loved. Where were you when I created everything there is? Did I consult with you about how to place the stars? Did I wait for your answer when I placed the oceans? Did I consult you when placed the earth on its axis? Who are you to believe that this land belongs only to one group of people. My creations were all fearfully and wonderfully made. Who are you to claim what is not yours? I did not give this land to just one group of people. I inspired men to write, “One nation under God,” you didn’t. Do not try to take my place. You do not know my thoughts nor my ways. I see the evil that you plan in secret. It will not prevail. Honor the people of this land, both indigenous and foreign, of which you are one. You must learn to honor this land that I created. I created you to worship Me only, not each other.

Israel Houghton

Our Prayer

To the Alpha and Omega,

Cover us and protect us from the attacks of the enemy, who uses men and women to carry out evil. Open their eyes and remove the scales of deception placed by the enemy. We come against the arrows, weapons, tricks and tools of the enemy. We plead the blood of Jesus over our families, our government and our land. Heal our land, Lord. Purify and purge our hearts, so that we can obey your Word and your voice. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Forgive us Lord, for the sins of omission and commission that we have committed. We do give you the glory and honor, forever and ever, in Jesus name. Amen.

But What About You?

Matthew 16:13-20

New International Version

Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah(A)

13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist;(B) others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”(C)

15 But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”(D)

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood,(E) but by my Father in heaven.(F) 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[a](G) and on this rock I will build my church,(H) and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys(I) of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[c] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[d] loosed in heaven.”(J) 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone(K) that he was the Messiah.

Our Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for your amazing love for us. You loved us past all of our faults, sins, and imperfections. You gave to us the most precious gift of your Son, who dwelt with us and gave us an example of how to live and how to love. Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith and whom we stand on firmly. We say that no matter what is happening around us, Jesus you are Lord. Use us in this world to help make the world a better place. Let us always boldly proclaim the TRUTH of who you are, Lord. Use us for your glory. In Jesus name, Amen. Rev. Marcia Davis
