From My Heart to Yours…

A Brief Message to all of my subscribers….

First, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read the devotionals. It means so much that I get to share my love for Jesus with you all.

I keep my post easy to read, for all levels of believers. This devotional is sometimes the closest some of my readers will get to going to church and hearing the Word of God. I use a vast array of Bible translations, so that all readers may be able to understand the Word of God.

Unfortunately, I believe that a lot of people are leery of organized religion and church, for so many reasons, but the biggest reason of because of conversations that turn into theological debates and doctrines.

This is neither the heart or purpose of Sacred Journey Devotionals. Our purpose is to edify, encourage and help bring people to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

All denominations are welcome here, but I have to ask that we all respect each other and honor the purpose of Sacred Journey Devotionals.

I keep the post simple. As people grow in the Lord, the Holy Spirit will lead them into the knowledge and wisdom of Christianity. Right now, I’m just trying to help people have a closer relationship with Jesus.

As each person grows closer to the Lord, the Holy Spirit will lead and guide their heart. Sacred Journey Devotionals is about helping people develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and also encouraging and edifying those that already have a personal relationship with Jesus. It’s not about not denominational differences and theological debates.

All are welcome here.

I leave you with this passage of scripture, which is at the heart of Sacred Journey Devotionals:

Philippians 4:8

New King James Version (NKJV)

Meditate on These Things

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Go in peace, while serving and growing in the Lord.

Precious Lord, Take My Hand…

Precious-Lord

Good morning, Family:

The love of God is immeasurable. The peace of God is unexplainable. The grace of God is remarkable.

Family, there are some seasons of our lives that it seems that we need God more than ever. It may feel like you can’t take one more step, in your journey. You cry out to Jesus, in desperation. What now?? Where do you go from here?

Thomas A. Dorsey lost his wife and child on the same day. His wife died giving birth to his son. Later on, that same evening, his son died. Through his pain and grief, he along with a close friend, birthed the song Precious Lord, Take My Hand.

It’s amazing how God’s love, peace and grace can take the difficult moments in our lives and use them for our good and His glory.

Precious Lord, Take My Hand

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear, precious Lord linger near
When my light is almost gone
Hear my cry, hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet, hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home (lead me home)

Go in peace, Family, knowing that God is in control. His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Trust Jesus and take his hand.

In His Amazing Love,

Rev. Marcia F. Davis
