Give Thanks…

Good morning, Beloved Family:

Happy Thanksgiving. This week, I was leading a group counseling session with a precious group of kids. We talked about what it meant to be thankful and what emotions you feel when you are thankful. The kids shared beautiful answers.

I will ask the same questions to all of you. What are you thankful for and what does being “Thankful” mean to you? King David was a man that truly loved God. He had so much to be thankful for because God changed his life.

One of the ways David showed his thanks to God was  through the Book of Psalms. David’s words are from the heart of a true worshipper.

Psalm 100

New International Version

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

Shout for joy(A) to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord(B) with gladness;
    come before him(C) with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.(D)
    It is he who made us,(E) and we are his[a];
    we are his people,(F) the sheep of his pasture.(G)Enter his gates with thanksgiving(H)
    and his courts(I) with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.(J)
For the Lord is good(K) and his love endures forever;(L)
    his faithfulness(M) continues through all generations.

May you be blessed today. Whether you are alone or surrounded by friends and family, I pray that your heart is filled with Thankfulness to God. I know that I am thankful for each of you reading this post. You are surrounded by love, both seen and unseen. You are never alone.

With love and thanksgiving,

I Will Bless The Oh Lord…

Good morning Family,

I pray that this week has greeted you with peace. I am eternally grateful to God for going before me to prepare me for my next season. This season that I am currently in has introduced me to a different pace that I am NOT used to running.

There is an urgency in this season to make sure that we are very prepared for what is coming. Do not take your training lightly. It is important that we perfect (verb) our craft, talent, gifting, and anointing.

This week, every time my mind becomes quiet, the hymn I Will Bless Thee Oh Lord keeps playing. The lyrics of “I will bless the oh Lord with a heart of thanksgiving, I bless thee oh Lord” are directing my thoughts and actions. The song goes on to say, “With my hands lifted up, with my mouth filled with praise, with a heart of thanksgiving, I will bless thee oh Lord.”

Due to the uniqueness of this season, we have to have our heart and mind grounded in worship and the Word. No matter how difficult or challenging things my be, if we face those challenges with worship and the residue of having intimacy with God in our heart, we can face anything.

Prayer and Thanksgiving for the Lord’s Righteous Judgments

Psalm 9:1-2

9 I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

Family, keep the praises of the Lord continually in your heart and mind. I pray the Lord’s blessing over your life. Go in peace, while praising the Lord!
