His Banner…

Greetings to my Precious Family:

This week has been filled with ups and downs and twists and turns, but God has been with me every step of the way.

There is something so magical and special about the peace that comes from God. It is a reassurance that no matter what circumstances look like, God is there with you.

God’s Banner over me and over you is love. God’s love can break down walls and calm the deepest of fears. God’s love can help lead, guide, and direct our footsteps. The Love of God is the most powerful force. God’s love transcends both time and space.

Scriptures of Hope and Love

Song of Solomon 2:4

New King James Version

The Shulamite to the Daughters of Jerusalem

He brought me to the [a]banqueting house,
And his banner over me was love.

Vineyard

If you are anything like me, you have so many reasons to tell God, “Thank you” for being our covering and our banner. Walk your path and journey knowing that you are loved. Share the love and peace of God with those you meet. Don’t just tell people that God loves them…show them.

Be blessed, family. Always know that I love you with the everlasting, never-ending, overflowing love of God. Go in peace, while praising and serving the Lord.

Seek First…

Good morning, Precious Family:

I pray you are in a blessed place in your mind, heart, and spirit. I pray that each decision you make today, no matter how big or small, is saturated in God.

If our mind is focused on the things of God, each moment, our steps and decisions will be ordered by the Lord. If we keep our mind on the things of God, we will not have to worry about what will happen because we know and understand that God is with us.

Scripture of Direction

Matthew 6:30-34

Today’s passage is taking from The Message Bible (A modern day translation)

30-33 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

34 “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Song of Worship and Direction

If you seek the Living God, peace and purpose will surround you. Grace and mercy will follow us, and the Holy Spirit will dwell inside you. What more could we ask? Keep your eyes, mind, and heart focused on Him.

Until we meet again, please know that I love you with the amazing and everlasting love of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Your sister, in Christ,

Rev. Marcia Davis

A Teachable Heart…

Good Day, Precious Family:

This morning, the Holy Spirit put on my heart the importance of having a teachable spirit.

I have had a lot of practice with being stubborn. One could say that at a certain time in my life, I was an expert at being stubborn and hard-headed, especially where God was concerned. However, the closer and more intimate my relationship with God became, my desire to please him grew.

As I matured in the Lord, and in life, I realized the lessons God was trying to teach me were important. The lessons were important not just for the present moment but also for the future.

I learned that the quicker I obeyed God, I was able to move through my lessons and trials with greater ease and clarity. The greatest and most humbling lesson I learned is that sometimes the lesson is not even about me (go figure).

Sometimes, the lesson I’m learning is for others who are watching my life. Whether we know it or not, people watch our lives. They watch how we respond to certain situations and scenarios. We are the Lord’s billboards. What does your billboard say about you? What does your billboard say about God?

Psalm 25:4-7
New International Version

4 Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, Lord, are good.

Today’s worship song comes from Vineyard. As you listen, please do so with a meditative heart.

May God bless you as you grow in wisdom and knowledge of His will for your life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I love you all with the amazing and everlasting love of Christ, our Savior.

Total Praise…

Good morning, Precious Ones:

We give God total praise for a new year. We give God total praise for health and strength.

This year will be a year of walking the path of our destiny. Last year, we may have taken time for granted, thinking that much more time was available. This season, every minute, every second, and every hour has to count. Take nothing for granted. This year must be walked in obedience and truth.

Psalm 121

New International Version

A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Richard Smallwood Total Praise

May the magnificent God we serve bless you and allow you to finish your race with joy and praise.

I love you all with the amazing and everlasting love of Christ Jesus,
