Day 211 of 365: Somehow…

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…” — Proverbs 3:5-6

Family, today, I cried.

Not tears of grief. Not tears of exhaustion. Not even tears because the journey has been easy.

I cried because I witnessed a miracle that didn’t happen all at once.

A young woman I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside sent me a message today. As I read her words, I realized something had changed. She was beginning to discover who God created her to be.

She was taking her first steps.

If you’ve ever watched a toddler learn to walk, you know the feeling. No one expects perfection. No one critiques the wobble. Every unsteady step is celebrated because those little steps represent something much greater, freedom, confidence, and growth.

That’s exactly how I felt today.

This young woman didn’t grow up believing her life had value. She learned to survive before she ever learned to live. She found safety in relationships that promised rescue, but rescue and healing are not always the same thing.

Session after session, I prayed.

Session after session, I listened.

Session after session, I asked questions, waited in silence, and trusted God with the places I could not reach.

There were many days when I had no idea how God was going to do it. But I believed He would.

As I sat reflecting this evening, an old gospel song came to my heart: “I Know the Lord Will Make a Way Somehow.”

Not because I knew how. But because He did.

Isn’t that how God so often works?

He doesn’t usually hand us the entire roadmap. Instead, He asks us to trust Him with the next faithful step. While we’re wondering if anything is changing, He is quietly working beneath the surface, healing wounds we cannot see and restoring hearts we cannot touch.

Then one ordinary day, a text message arrives. A conversation feels different. A smile carries hope. A person who once only survived begins to live.

And you realize in that moment that God made a way.  Somehow.

Will You Pray With

Abba, thank You for reminding me that the work has always been Yours. Thank You for allowing me to witness the beauty of transformation, even when I cannot see it unfolding. Strengthen my faith when I don’t understand the process, and help me to trust that You are always working beneath the surface. May I never grow weary in faithfully planting seeds, knowing that You alone bring the harvest. Amen.

Family, if you’re in the in-between tonight, don’t despise your wobbly steps. Heaven doesn’t measure perfection. It celebrates movement. The first step toward healing is still a step. The first honest prayer is still a prayer. The first boundary is still a victory. The first glimpse of the person God created you to be is worth rejoicing over.

Day 189/190 of 365: Order My Steps, Lord

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, have you heard the line from the song, “I Can See Clearly Now” that says, “I can see clearly now the rain is gone”? Sometimes our lives unfold just like those lyrics.

This week, I had to truly pause, pray, think, seek wise counsel, and then make my decision. I’m so grateful I didn’t rush or make a hasty decision.

At first, I became angry, so I came here to write. But as I began writing, I realized the answer hadn’t come yet. Instead of forcing a decision, I chose to wait.

Last night I remained still before the Lord, and this afternoon the answer finally came. I began contacting the right people, setting things into motion, and now my spirit is at peace.

Family, although I was initially upset, I knew I had to run to the Lord first. No matter what my feelings do, I always talk to God. I ask Him to order my steps and help me remain still so I don’t get ahead of Him.

Holy Scriptures

Psalm 37:23-24
New International Version

23 The Lord makes firm the steps
    of the one who delights in him;
24 though he may stumble, he will not fall,  for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Proverbs 3:5-6
New International Version

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Family, as I reflected on everything that happened, I thought about all the different scenarios that could have unfolded had I not waited on God. Over the years, I have learned the hard way that acting while I am caught up in my feelings often leaves me cleaning up one mess after another. The chaos isn’t always caused by the situation itself, but by my response to it.

Feelings have their place, and at times they can be beautiful. They allow us to love deeply, celebrate joyfully, and grieve honestly. But there are also moments when our feelings can cloud our judgment and lead us in directions God never intended.

I have learned that it is far better to wait on God. His timing is never careless, His wisdom is never rushed, and His direction always brings a peace that my emotions alone can never provide.

So today, my prayer remains simple:

Lord, order my steps

Day 83 of 365: The Courage To Surrender…

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, when we think of courage, we picture bravery—standing strong, facing fears, and walking boldly into the unknown.
When we think of surrender, we imagine letting go, giving up control, or yielding.
At first glance, these two words don’t seem like they belong together. Courage feels active; surrender feels passive. But in God’s kingdom, they meet in a beautiful, challenging way.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is let go.

Trusting God requires courage—real courage. Not the kind that shouts or fights, but the kind that whispers, “God, I don’t understand, but I’m placing this in Your hands.”

There are moments in life when God asks us to release something we love or something we’ve been trying to manage on our own:

•A child or family member who is struggling
•A medical diagnosis that feels overwhelming
•A relationship we can’t fix
•A situation we can’t change
•A burden we’ve carried too long

The “what‑ifs” creep in and multiply. What if it gets worse? What if I let go and everything falls apart?

But the truth is, some things are simply too big for us. And God never asked us to carry what only He can handle.

Surrender isn’t giving up—it’s giving over.
It’s not quitting—it’s trusting.
It’s not weakness—it’s courage wrapped in faith.

God invites us to release our tight grip so He can place His hand over our situation. When we surrender, we make room for His peace, His wisdom, and His power to work in ways we cannot.

Scripture Passage of the Day

Proverbs 3:5-6
New International Version

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, I come to You with the things that feel too big for me. Give me the courage to surrender what I cannot control. Calm my fears and silence my “what‑ifs.” Teach me to trust You with the people and situations that weigh on my heart. Help me release every burden into Your capable hands. I believe You are faithful, loving, and strong enough to carry what I cannot. Today, I choose courage. Today, I choose surrender. Lord, Jesus, in your mercy hear my prayer.

And I let it be…And so it is…

Amen, Amen, and Amen
