For Me…

Good morning, Precious Family:

May the Perfect Peace of our Lord, Jesus The Christ, be with you all.

Family, do you ever think about, from time to time, how truly blessed we are as children of the Most High God?

When I think about ALL that Jesus did, just for me, I cannot help but have a heart of gratitude and thankfulness. If Im being truly honest, a feeling of unworthiness comes over me as well.

When I think about all that we stand on as, Christians, and our belief in the perfected forms of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; I stand in awe of the love and the sacrifice that was shown.

Think about it, Jesus took so much from people, just for us…

He took all the doubt of people calling him a false prophet. He took people treating him as a familiar boy growing up in Nazareth. He took religious leaders looking for ways to destroy him. He took his own disciples, not believing him. He did all of that BEFORE he was wiped, beaten, stabbed, and crucified on a cross. He did it all for me. He did it all for you.

Holy Scriptures

1 Peter 2:21-25

New International Version

21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

22 “He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.”[a]

23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,[b] but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Song of Worship

Pastor and Psalmist William Murphy

Family, please don’t take your walk with Christ as something that is common. God is not a common God. The Infinite, All Knowing, and Eternal Being made a decision to love us. Think about it. Think on the little things, today, of all the things God has done for you.

Mezuzah

Greetings Precious Family and Happy 2025:

May God’s PEACE be with you always.

Family, recently, I have been studying the purpose and meaning of the Mezuzah after having a discussion with a dear friend. Once I began my research, my curiosity was peaked.

The Mezuzah is contained inside the cylindrical or rectangular box that is placed on the doorpost of a home and doorposts of the rooms in the home as well. The Mezuzah is the blessing, reminder, and prayer of the most important command from God, which in its simplest form is to love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength and to place God’s Word in your heart.

The Mezuzah Prayer

Blessed are You, Adonai, our God, Sovereign of the universe, who hallows us with mitzvot and commands us to affix the mezuzah“.

The scripture passage goes on to say that not only should believers place God’s Word in their heart and home, but to also teach their children about the goodness and blessings of God. It also goes on to say that a continual reminder should be wrapped around your wrists and placed on your forehead.

In essence, the Mezuzah is a prayerful reminder that God should never leave you. 🙏  As Christians and believers in the Holy Spirit, we have a Helper that continually leads, guides, and reminds us about our covenant with God. Even though we do not adorn our bodies with visual reminders, we are taught to study the Word to show ourselves approved.

The Mezuzah contains the scripture passages from the fifth book of the Torah, which is Deuteronomy 6:4–9 and 11:13–21.

Holy Scriptures

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

New Catholic Bible

The Law of Love.[a] Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. [b]Bind them as a reminder upon your hand, and wear them as a pendant between your eyes Write them on the doorframes of your houses and your gates.

Deuteronomy 11:13-21

13 [a]If you carefully observe the commandments that I give you today, to love the Lord, your God, and to serve him with all your heart and soul, 14 then he will provide the rain upon the land in its proper season, the fall rains and the spring rains, so that you can harvest your grain, your wine, and your oil. 15 I will provide grass in your field for your cattle, so that you may eat until you are full.

16 Only be careful not to let yourself be enticed, turning away and serving other gods, worshiping them. 17 Then the Lord’s anger would lash out against you. He would shut up the heavens so that there would be no rain, no produce from the land. Beware lest you soon perish in the good land that the Lord is giving you.

18 Rewards of Faithfulness. Fix these words in your heart and your soul, bind them as a reminder upon your hand, and wear them as a pendant between your eyes. 19 You are to teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. 20 You are to write them on the doorframes of your houses and your gates 21 so that your days and the days of your children will be multiplied in the land that the Lord promised to give them, lasting as long as the heavens cover the earth.

Worship Song

Family, I am a true believer that God can use so many ways to reach us about how to live a life that glorifies Him. If you need to bind a scripture to your arm, start your day with a prayer, continue praying throughout the day, sing a worship song from your heart, light a candle and have meditation, or any other outward gesture that helps you to grow closer…DO IT!!!!

Do whatever it takes to stay in the presence of God continually. Do whatever it takes to treat people with God’s love. Do whatever it takes to keep the Word of God in your heart.

Do whatever it takes!!!

Love Is…

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

I woke up this morning with a spirit of gratefulness and love. In 2015, God allowed my husband to find me. We were married on December 18, 2015. Yes, today is our anniversary.  The first few years of marriage were so exciting and fun, full of travel, adventures, and new love. We were in complete and total Bliss.

Then, 2021 came, and all of our vows were tested. All of our vows…for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health and all the places and phases that life found us.

My husband and I have had to learn what love “looks like” will take different shapes and forms, depending on what season we are currently going through. There is no ONE way to love. Each season has taught us new and different ways to love each other.

Beginning in 2016, I began to officiate weddings. There is a reason that 1st Corinthians 13 is called the “Love Chapter” in the Bible. As Christians, we have a different model to follow than the world does. As a married couple, we are modeling Christ to each other.

Holy Scriptures

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

English Standard Version

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[a] it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8 Love never ends, or fails.

Love Song

This week’s worship song is a little different. It is not a worship song, in the traditional sense, but it is mine and my husband’s song.

Babyface – Exceptional

Family, I would like to wish each and every one of you a very happy and healthy holiday season. May you celebrate the birth of God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, Our Emmanuel.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I will return in 2025 with more devotionals – if God allows it to be.

I Need You, Lord!!

Greetings, Family:

May the Peace of God continually be with you always.

I pray that no matter when you are reading this that you are able to rest in and receive the love and everlasting Peace of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

This morning, I was thinking that there is not a moment that goes by that I don’t need the Lord. There is no circumstance or situation that God is not involved in my life.

Every decision I make, God is there. Even when I make poor decisions, God is there to let me know that he loves me but I need to make a different choice.

This morning, the song “I Need Thee” dropped in my spirit. I kept singing it over and over, realizing that every word was STILL TRUE.

Stay humble before the Lord, Family. Allow God to be your resting place. 🙏

Is It All Worth It?

Good morning, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you always and in every circumstance and situation. May you remember that Peace is freely given and it is a choice as to whether you received it. Just like Salvation, once you accept the Lord’s Peace it will change your life.

Family, I was thinking this week about my life and some of the decisions I have made in my Christian journey. I was thinking about the prayers I’ve prayed, the songs I have sang, and the time I have spent listening and learning in preparing these devotionals each week for the last eight years.

My biggest question is, has it all been worth it, or was it in vain?  Have any lives been touched or transformed? Did anyone make a different choice because of the words God shared through me? Some of these answers I may never get until I get to heaven. Some days I just want to know… Is it all worth it?

Holy Scriptures

1 Corinthians 15:51-58

New Catholic Bible

51 Listen while I tell you a mystery. We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed 52 in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.[a] 53 For this perishable body must be clothed with the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

54 When this perishable body puts on imperishability, and this mortal body puts on immortality, then will the words that are written be fulfilled:

Death has been swallowed up in victory.
55     Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law. 57 But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, stand firm and immovable, devoting yourselves completely to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Songs of Faith

The Clark Sisters

Family, no, it is not all in vain. We each all have our own races to run for the Lord. Run YOUR race well, so that when you get to the finish line, the Lord can say, “Well done, my good and faith servant.”

I pray continually for all of us. I pray for our strength in the Lord. Family, keep your spiritual weapons ready. Study Ephesians 6 and truly learn how to put into practice what each weapon does.

These are just a few of the weapons. Study to learn about all of the weapons available for us to use.

Helmet of salvation: Protects our thoughts and helps us stand firm in battle

Shield of faith: Extinguishes the flaming arrows of evil

Breastplate of righteousness: Protects our heart

Word of God: Gives us peace and joy, and allows us to defeat the enemy

Truth, righteousness, the Gospel, faith, the hope of our salvation, prayer: Other pieces of spiritual armor

Deep Breath….

Greetings, Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you at all times and in all situations.

The Lord’s Peace is constant and unchanging. It is stable and unwavering. No matter the situation, no matter what our circumstances look like, the Peace of the Lord will always be available.

I say that it is available because, just like accepting the salvation of the Lord, accepting His Peace is a choice as well. Also, like salvation, the Lord’s Peace is a Gift.

Sooooooo, what will your response be? 🤔

How will you handle LIFE when things don’t go your way? Do you look at the problem, or do you look to God? Trust me, I have first-hand experience that looking at the problem does NOT work.

Father, God, we look to You. Thank you for being our Peace, Shelter, and Salvation.

Holy Scriptures

John 14:22-27

The Message

22 Judas (not Iscariot) said, “Master, why is it that you are about to make yourself plain to us but not to the world?”

23-24 “Because a loveless world,” said Jesus, “is a sightless world. If anyone loves me, he will carefully keep my word and my Father will love him—we’ll move right into the neighborhood! Not loving me means not keeping my words. The message you are hearing isn’t mine. It’s the message of the Father who sent me.

25-27 “I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.

Doing Whatever It Takes…

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, it is 3:35 am Wednesday morning, here in Covington, Georgia. I pray that this week’s letter finds you well.

The Holy Spirit woke me up this morning with a message for us. The first thing I heard in my Spirit was, “I had to make sure you wanted it bad enough and that you would do whatever it took to reach your goals. Never take my provisions for granted.”

In my case, the Holy Spirit was speaking of my journey to completing my Masters degree. I have had so many hurdles trying to finish my goals. It seems like one road block after another. Some of the road blocks were created in consequence to decisions that I made.

After many months of setbacks, I was willing to do anything and go anywhere to complete my goal. I was willing to drive to other states, stay in hotels, and be away from my family in order to finish this race. Nothing was going to stand in my way. It was at this point of desperation that God opened a door less than 30 minutes from my house. God whispered to me, “I had to see that you were willing to do whatever it took to cross into your “Promise Land.” Your “Moses” was keeping you from entering in. I had to wait for you to have a Joshua spirit before I could allow you to enter.””

Family, when I say I felt ALL of that word from God!!! Whew, I felt it, and I repented for my previous attitude and soiled entitlement. I am humbled that God has now allowed me to enter my Promised Land just 30 minutes from my house.

Holy Scriptures

Joshua 1:1-6

New Catholic Bible

The Conquest of the Promised Land[a]

Chapter 1

Assurance of Divine Aid.

After the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua, the son of Nun, the assistant of Moses, saying, [b]“Moses my servant is dead. Rise, therefore, and cross over this Jordan, you and all of this people, to the land that I am giving to them, the people of Israel. Every place that you set your feet down, I have given to you, as I promised to Moses. Your territory will extend from the Desert of Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all of the land of the Hittites, and as far as the great sea on the west. No one will be able to withstand you, all the days of your life. I will treat you just as I treated Moses, for I will never forsake nor abandon you. So be strong and take courage, for you will lead these people to inherit the land that I promised to their forefathers to give them.

Family, please walk with humbled-obedience and passion for the purposes God put on your life. Never take God’s provision and blessings for granted, as it may cost so much if you do. The journey that should have taken 4 days may take 40 years if you’re not ready.

I should have been finished with school months ago, but God knew some things had to be broken off in my life. I was originally called under the mantle of Moses, but I received the blessing of the Promise Land under the mantle of Joshua.

Now, I’m ready…

Don’t Get Distracted…

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord always be with you.

At the time I’m writing this letter, it is around 4:05 am on Wednesday morning in Covington, Georgia. The Holy Spirit woke me up and directed me to start praying about a matter.

The Holy Spirit of God was very clear in Its instruction for how I am to conduct my day, as I pray on this certain matter. My main instruction was to, “Stay in a place/mindset of holiness.” The second instruction from the Holy Spirit of God was, “Don’t get distracted.”

When God is preparing us for a purpose, assignment, mission, calling, or battle, we must be obedient and be in a mindset of holiness. I don’t mean holiness in terms of what some may think of as an outward showing, appearance, or spectacle. The maintenance of holiness I am speaking of is in the hardest battleground that we will ever face. Not only is the battleground challenging, but it’s also Invisible. The battleground I’m speaking of is the Mind.

Every decision we make begins in the Mind. Every thought we think has a purpose and carries weight. Will our decisions add light into the world, or will it add darkness? Will the decisions we make lead us to disobedience and sin, or will it lead to maturity and strength in the Lord.

The Word of God is very clear when it comes to how we should manage our thoughts.

Holy Scriptures

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

New International Version

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Songs of Worship

Family, we are entering a season and time where we can not be distracted by what we see, feel, taste, or hear. We must set aside everything that may try to get our minds off the mission that God has given us.

My orders may be different from yours, but my obedience is the same. I have been given instructions, and I accept the mission and orders I have been given.

I pray your strength in the Lord. May the Light of Christ shine with you, on you, and through you so that it may draw others to Him. Don’t get distracted. Finish the Mission.

Oh How He Loves…

Good morning, Family:

I pray this letter finds you well and dwelling in the perfect peace of the Lord.

One thing I have been praying for is that God would help me go deeper in my devotional time and for my time to be more consistent. The reason is that at some point I started squeezing God out of my day.

There was a time in my life that I would wake up singing and giving my highest praises to God. As a result, I stayed in the ever-flowing stream of God’s consciousness. Spiritual knowledge came to me quickly and effortlessly. I have read the Bible cover to cover more times than I can remember.

However, when life began getting more busy and the hours of my day were filled with so much activity, my time with God suffered. I was either too tired or too encumbered to add God back into my day. Lately, I have been so hungry to get back to that place of intimacy.

This morning, I woke up with God on my mind. The script that came to me was John 3:16, which is a very popular scripture. God pushed me to read the entire passage. I had forgotten that the entire passage had a deeper revelation.

Scriptures of Life and Light

John 3:16-21

New Catholic Bible

16 “For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe in him
already stands condemned,
because he has not believed in the name
of the only-begotten Son of God.
19 “And the judgment is this:
the light has come into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light
because their deeds were evil.
20 Everyone who does evil hates the light
and avoids coming near the light
so that his misdeeds may not be exposed.
21 However, whoever lives by the truth
comes to the light
so that it may be clearly seen
that his deeds have been done
in God.”

Family, John 3 has so much of a message. It is so much deeper than a single verse. John 3’s main message is about love in action and the characteristics of love that has been redeemed by the perfect and pure sacrifice of the cross.

I love you with the amazing and everlasting love of our Lord and Redeemer Jesus, The Christ.

When Life is Lifing…

Greetings, Precious Family:

I pray this week’s letter finds you abiding in the perfect peace of our Lord. The same peace that calmed the storm, just by Jesus speaking to it by saying, “Peace, Be still.”

One thing that stays consistently true is that life can and does throw us curve balls. The term people are using now is, “Life be lifing.” Which essentially means that they have faced some challenges and hurdles, but they are still standing. Whenever I hear someone say that, I say a quiet “Amen” in agreement.

Right now, I am facing a very LOUD ticking clock to find a site to work at in order to complete my Clinical Mental Counseling requirements for Masters degree. This part of my educational journey has been so difficult. I have to have my site paperwork in by October 13th. The site I was going to work with changed their minds last minute, and now I have only a month to find a new site.

I’m trying to stay focused and stand on the peace of God that tells me it’s going to be ok. Please be in prayer that I would connect with the right organization in order to fulfill my graduation requirements of three semesters of Practicum and Internship for a total of 700 hours.

If I had not seen God’s provision and faithfulness before, I would be worried, but I have personally seen God come through for me time and time again. I know God to be a promise keeper.

So, I speak out into the atmosphere and say this:

“I trust you, Lord. Allow the right company to be illuminated in my spirit so that I will know it is the place you have chosen just for me. Allow me to have favor in their eyes. I rebuke any stumbling blocks, or traps, set by the enemy I WILL be still and know that you are in complete control and you are right here with me, Amen.”

Scriptures of Peace

Mark 4:35-41

Modern English Version

The Calming of a Storm

35 That same day, when the evening came, He said to them, “Let us go cross to the other side.” 36 When they had sent the crowd away, they took Him in the boat just as He was. There were also other little boats with Him. 37 A great wind storm arose, and the waves splashed into the boat, so that it was now filling the boat. 38 He was in the stern asleep on a pillow. They woke Him and said, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

39 He rose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” Then the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

40 He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is that you have no faith?”

41 They feared greatly and said to one another, “What kind of Man is He, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

Family, yes, life can throw us some serious curve balls. Life is lifing right now, but I stand on one thing my mother always tells me, “Remember, Marcia, we don’t serve no weak God.” This is the reminder I have for all of us. Don’t look at the storm. Focus on God. It is through us standing in the power of Jesus that we can rebuke the wind and speak to our storm by saying, “Peace, be still.”

I love you all with the amazing and everlasting love of Jesus Christ, who is our Savior, Redeemer, and Lord.
