Its Thursday morning a few minutes before 7:00am. I’m sitting outside my physical therapist office waiting for it to open. My alarm was set for 4:15am this morning. I woke up at 3:30 but went back to sleep.
I knew I had things that I needed to do before my appointment. However, for the last few weeks, my schedule has been so full so I truly have cherished every hour of sleep.
It’s so funny, I actually got out of bed at 5:15. I just couldn’t push my body to get up. I’ve been asking the Lord to help me wake up in the mornings and he has done just that. The problem is that I haven’t been obedient to getting up. I do confess that is my error and I truly ask God to forgive me and to help me have the discipline to get out of bed.
Why is getting up two hours early so important, you may ask? First, when I get up early, I’m not rushed. I can take my time and get ready without running around the house. Second, traffic in Atlanta is ridiculous, so any chance I have to get out on the road early is always a plus. Finally, when I’m not rushed, I have time to hear from God and respond. Being available to God is so important to me.
Lord, God, I am fully available to you. Use me and my life for your glory, as you see fit. I’m available to you.
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Good morning, Family:
When I was a little girl, my mom taught me how to pray. She said, “Marcia, if you are ever afraid, you can pray to Jesus. He loves you so much.” That is how my relationship with our Savior began. I learned that He was and still is my safe place.
1 John 4:7-11
New King James Version (NKJV)
Knowing God Through Love
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
There is no place that the perfect love of God cannot reach. There is no situation that God will not run to for the one lost sheep.
Remember, you are a Child of God. You were created for a purpose. May God bless you all today. May you be reminded of how precious you are to Him.
Go in peace, while serving and praising the Lord. You were bought with a price and you are Perfect.
Family, Let’s Raise a Big Hallelujah to the Throne Room of God!!!!!
Hallelujah!!!
Joy is Overtaking my heart this morning.
What a wonderful joy it is to know that we all took the step of faith and said “YES!” to Jesus, when the Holy Spirit offered us the invitation to come.
We have access to power, insight, prayer, worship and so much more.
I pray for you every day, Family. Please continue to lift up me and my family, in your prayer time. Ministry is a family calling. I’m so blessed that God called such an amazing man to walk with me.
A Christian we all go through test, trails and sometimes even persecution. Our weapon is in our praise. No matter what comes, we raise up a standard against the enemy. Our weapon is in our worship. Hallelujah is our weapon. Lift up your hands and open your mouth.
Joshua 6:20
New International Version (NIV)
20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.
I pray this morning finds you ready to face another day and to receive all that God has for you to Do and Be.
Sometimes, what we go through has nothing to do with us personally. Recently, I was praying about a situation going on in my life. I could not quite understand all of the dynamics involved. I asked God to give me clarity on how to be able to help the situation. God lovingly said, “Marcia, it’s not as always about you.”
So when I heard that in my spirit I didn’t understand. I asked, well if it’s not about me then why is it in my life? The simple answer I received is because God called on me to be a light in the situation. The circumstances looked insurmountable and so much bigger than me.
The Holy Spirit reminded me of the power of fasting and prayer. Some things in our lives will require us to go to a deeper level of warfare, worship and prayer. We must speak Life with power, faith and authority. In some translations of the Bible, Jesus says this:
Matthew 17:21
Living Bible (TLB)
21 But this kind of demon won’t leave unless you have prayed and gone without food.”
Family, continue to pray and press, in the Spirit of God. God is using us on the front lines. Our power comes from our Risen Lord. Remember who you are. Remember the power that you possess.
You have the Word of God and the Word of Life inside of you.
A lot of times we don’t always know how to reach out and ask for prayer. Even as children, one of the most comforting things we need is for someone to hold our hand.
I’m here if you need me. I would be honored to hold your hand in times of joy, sadness, fear, and even in the unknown.
As children of God, our job is not just to tell people about God, but to show people God.
Today was a super crazy day. I’m just crawling into bed and talking to God. The Lord’s Prayer is always a perfect prayer to end any evening. As you pray, the Holy Spirit will also bring to remembrance other things that should be spoken in your prayer time.
This evening, I lift up friends and family that are facing sickness in their lives and in the lives of their loved ones. I pray for love, peace, and healing, according to how God wants to heal, and I pray for faith. Faith in knowing that God has you and your family close to his chest. He feels your pain, grief, anger, confusion and sometimes even hatred. Through it all, God just holds you and quietly says, “I love you.”
Rest tonight, knowing that God already has tomorrow taken care for you. Sleep well. Cry if you have to, but know that God is always by your side.
I pray this morning finds you full of joy, purpose, and peace of mind, knowing that your soul has already been bought and paid for by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer.
We, as Christians, no longer have a price tag hanging on us. Even though the enemy knows we have been paid for, he tries his best to get us to forget how precious we are.
The Word of God says in 1 Corinthians 6:20, “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
The next time the enemy tries to pull you away from living a godly life, remind the enemy (and yourself) that you are not for sale. Your life is spoken for. You are God’s most precious purchase.
This morning, I woke thanking God for not only allowing me to see another day, but also another year. Today, I am fourty seven years old. Some people are ashamed to tell their age, but I am grateful for every year.
I pray that this year I would be pleasing to the Lord in my life, my health, my finances, my calling, my marriage and in my church home.
The Lord allowed me to graduate from college this year and to expand this devotional into countries I have never even heard of or visited.
This year, if it continues to be the Lord’s will, I will have have more speaking engagements and be able to share the joy of being a servant of God.
This year, if it continues to be the Lord’s will, I will be able to officiate more weddings, counsel more couples through premarital counseling, alongside my husband, and also speak life into the people that cross my path, in my role as a Christian Life coach.
I’m so excited and hopeful about all that this new year may bring. I just want to make my Abba proud. Father, you are the wind under my wings.
Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to serve you. Nothing brings me more joy than touching lives, in your name.
Psalm 19:14
New Living Translation (NLT)
14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Go in peace, family, while praising and serving the Lord, our Loving Redeemer.
Happy Wednesday. We are almost at the weekend. I enjoy the weekends because my alarm clock doesn’t go off at 3:45am.
No matter what time I wake up, each day I wake up is a blessing and one more chance to shine for God.
I speak LIFE into my day. I start my day with this statement,
“Thank you, Lord, for a brand new day. Open my eyes to see what you would have me to see. I speak life into my day, my circumstances, and my interactions. May everyone that I encounter see YOU instead of me. May you be gloried in the Temple of my body. I love you, Lord. Cover me and my family. Continue to help me grow as a wife, a homemaker, a servant of your kingdom and in ANY other areas of my life that you know I need to grow. Remind me to speak life into every thing. And So it Is. Amen.
Ephesians 4:29
English Standard Version (ESV)
29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Speak life to those around you. Speak life to your family, your coworkers, your circumstances.
