Living A Surrendered Life…

i-surrender-all

Good morning, Family:

How many of you have heard or sung the lyrics to this popular gospel hymn, “I surrender all. All to thee,  my blessed Savior, I surrender all.”

What does a surrendered life look like? What does a surrendered life feel like?

A life surrendered to the will and direction of God is a life of faith, hope, trust and love. A surrendered life is one that is initially started,  for most believers, with spiritual baby steps.

Daily trust in God, and standing on His Holy Word, allows the faith and trust of a believer to grow stronger each day. Each day we surrender to God, the faith walk becomes more and more comfortable.

We, as believers, were never created to navigate this life alone. Jesus promised, the disciples, and us,  that he would send the Comforter, to help navigate this dimension and bring to them  remembrance all that He taught.

John 14:25-27

New International Version (NIV)

25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all thingsand will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Go in peace, faith, and trust, as you are being led by the Spirit of God, our Promised Comforter. Serve God and love God with all of your  heart, mind soul and strength.

Why not start your day with this prayer:

“Good morning, God. I love you and I give you all the glory, honor and praise. Thank you for living on the inside of me. Show me your ways, Lord. Lead me, as I go about my day. Order my steps, my mouth and my actions. May my life be a reflection of your love. I surrender my life to your divine purpose. Thank you for using me. May you be glorified through me. In the name of your Son and my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen.”

I love you, Family.

Worth the Wait, Kairos Timing…

Good morning, Family:

In the bible, there are so many passages that speak about waiting on God. Verses like Psalm 25:5 that says, “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. King James Version (KJV)”

Psalms 27:14: Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, i say, on the LORD.

Why is it so important to wait on God? Whether we are waiting on God for an answer to a prayer, an answer to a question, or waiting on God while we worship. The presence, purpose and power of God is tied up in God’s everlasting covenant with us. As long as we seek the Kingdom of God and the Presenceof God, we will always be in right order.

Be still, worship, serve, pray, and rejoice….while you wait on the Lord.

Go in peace, knowing and trusting that God is who he says he is and he cannot lie.

In Christ Alone,

Rev. Marcia Davis

The Passion…

Good morning, Family:

Last week we talked a little bit about allowing God to heal us and for us to feel safe in His presence, no matter where we are. I can’t think of a better scripture to start this week off than with Psalm 23 and with a heart lifting video entitled, “Deliver Me,” from Donald Lawrence.

Read how The Passion Translation interprets Psalm 23.

Psalm 23

The Passion Translation (TPT)

The Good Shepherd

23 David’s poetic praise to God[a]
The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd.[b]
I always have more than enough.
He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.[c]
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.[d]
That’s where he restores and revives my life.[e]
He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure
and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness[f]
so that I can bring honor to his name.
Lord, even when your path takes me through
the valley of deepest darkness,
fear will never conquer me, for you already have!
You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way.
Your authority is my strength and my peace.[g]
The comfort of your love takes away my fear.
I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.
You become my delicious feast
even when my enemies dare to fight.
You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit;[h]
you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows.
So why would I fear the future?
For your goodness and love pursue me all the days of my life.
Then afterward, when my life is through,
I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you.

Go in peace, perfect peace, while praising and serving the Lord.

In Christ,

Rev. Marcia Davis

A Brand New Heart…

Psalm-51-Create-in-me-a-Clean-Heart

Good morning, Precious Family:

I pray for your peace in the Lord daily. It is my heart’s desire that no past hurt, trauma, or brokenness has prevented you from having a filling life, in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

If you have unhealed hurts, I pray that you would allow God to minister to your heart. There is nothing that God can’t fix. Trust him to do a complete work in your heart, mind and soul.

In Psalm 51, David asked God to give him a new heart so that absolutely nothing would come between the worship David wanted to give God. David didn’t ask for money, fame, the best job, or even perfect health. David’s only desire was to be able to worship God with all that he had.

Psalm 51:10-17

New International Version (NIV)

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit,to sustain me.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
so that sinners will turn back to you.
14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
you who are God my Savior,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 My sacrifice, O God, is[a] a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.

Go in peace and joy, with a newly renewed heart. Seek God daily and lavish worship on Him. Become a sponge in the presence of His Glory.

In pure adoration of the Most High,

Rev. Marcia Davis

Seek First…

Good morning, Family:

In this fast-paced life we are in now, sometimes it is hard to slow down and take time for our spiritual health. We must always understand, as Christians, our hope and joy comes from the giver of life, Jesus Christ our Lord and Redeemer.

Why is it important to seek God? Seeking God’s direction gives us a plan and a purpose. We can navigate our lives with hope, faith, and trust knowing that while we follow and pursue God, everything in our lives will be so much more peaceful.

Meditate on today’s scripture:

Matthew 6:31-34

New International Version (NIV)

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Be blessed. Follow God. Stay prayed up.

Seek God.

Good morning, Family:

I’m so grateful and blessed for each and every one of you. I pray for you often and you are always on my mind. I’m excited about the day that we may get see each other face to face.

The main purpose of Sacred Journey Devotionals is always to uplift, encourage and edify each reader to help you grow stronger in your daily spiritual walk.

We are all more than conquerors and even though weapons may be formed against us, they will not prosper because we are covered and grafted into the family of believers in Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 54:17

New King James Version (NKJV)

17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

Go in peace, family, while praising and serving the Lord.

In joyful service to our great and might King,

Be Glorified…

Happy Day, Family:

I’m so thankful for each of you. I pray that today, and every day to come, that you will taste the joy of the Lord. May His joy bring life to your heart, mind, spirit, and soul. The Love of God is radiant and beautiful. Taste and see that he is good.

Psalm 19:1-6

New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 19

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
    and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.

Go in peace, while joyfully serving the Lord. May our lives be a reflection of heaven.

Overcomers…

4b0f2f9191f8b0ca1efe03ebf002aabd

Good morning, Overcomers:

As Christians, we have great power in this world, because we are children of a great and mighty King. Our God Jehovah sits on the Throne and our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, sits to the right of God as our Chief Intercessor.

We are more than conquerors because we have union with Christ. We are Overcomers!!!!

John 16:33

The Message (MSG)

31-33 Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”

Family, dont give up. Your greatest victory comes right after your toughest fight. Stand strong and fight. You are not alone. Call on your Help every minute of every day. Dont try and fight this battle  in your own strength. Put on your warrior clothes!!!

You are….

We are…

Jesus is…The Overcomer!

Amen.

Revelations 5

7seals

Good morning, Family:

One of my favorite scripture passages is from Revelations 5. Chapter 5 holds such a special place in my heart because I used to have dreams and visions about it.

This morning, on my way to work, I heard a Chris Rice song that spoke of this very passage of scripture. The chapter is too large for me to post here, but I invite you to read chapter 5. Here is an excerpt:

Revelation 5:1-5

New International Version (NIV)

The Scroll and the Lamb

Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Go in peace, family, while giving glory, honor and praise to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ our Lord.

I Am…

sun-over-earthxxx
Good morning, Family:

Happy Friday, if you are here in the states. Happy Day for our family all across the world.

In yesterday’s devotional, we talked about God’s grace being more than enough to help us through anything. Today, we will talk about WHY God’s grace is more than sufficient.

When God told Moses that he had to go before Pharaoh to tell Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go, Moses had to also go to his people and tell them that God sent him to set them free. Moses asked the Lord, if the people ask who sent me on this rescue mission, who should I say gave me the orders? God told Moses to tell the people that “I Am That I Am” sent has sent you.

What is encompassed in the totality of  the title “I Am Who Am?” It is same power that we spoke of yesterday, God’s Grace. God’s grace takes many forms and can be used in any situation.

There is nothing to hard for God. If God gave you instructions to do a certain thing, trust and believe that he will give you the provisions to make it happen. You must have faith and you must know how to listen.

Exodus 3:13-14

The Message (MSG)

13 Then Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the People of Israel and I tell them, ‘The God of your fathers sent me to you’; and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What do I tell them?”

14 God said to Moses, “I-AM-WHO-I-AM. Tell the People of Israel, ‘I-AM sent me to you.’”

Go in peace, while serving the Lord. Know that God’s grace has already gone before you to prepare the way.

In His Amazing Grace,

Rev. Marcia F. Davis
