I greet you with the abundant and overflowing love of Christ. The love of God is so completely perfect. It is a love that encompasses all that is good and holy.
Think about what it means to made in the image of a perfect, holy, and loving God.
Genesis 1:26-27
New International Version (NIV)
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Be blessed, family. Follow and chase God with all your heart, mind and soul. Go in peace, while serving and praising the Lord.
Today is a new day that we have never seen before. It may not be perfect, in our eyes, but today does have a purpose.
May we align ourselves with the spirit and will of God, moment by moment. This morning DID NOT AT ALL go like I wanted it to, but my mind, heart, and spirit are still in unison as we smile at God. All of me still says, “Let your will be done on earth and in my life, as it is in heaven. Please continually position me in a place and posture of thanksgiving. In the name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen, Amen, and Amen.”
1 Chronicles 16:36
New King James Version (NKJV)
36 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting!
And all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the Lord.
I just want to extend a warm welcome to all of our new subscribers to the Sacred Journey Devotional website.
I’m so blessed and humbled that some part of the devotional is nourishing to your soul and heart. I am simply a vessel that God uses.
Unless otherwise noted, all of the scripture references that are shared come from the Bible Gateway website. All of the music that is shared comes through YouTube. I love being able to put a spotlight on gospel and contemporary Christian artist.
For those that don’t know, I NEVER ask for any form of money or contributions. This devotional is my “time tithe” back to God. No one should ever contact you for money.
I believe that it is essential to give back to God a portion of what he has blessed us with. For me means our gifts/talents, time, and finances.
I have some exciting news to share with you. I am in the early stages of writing, and hopefully publishing, a book of daily devotionals. Be on the lookout for more information in the next few months.
Again, thank you, everyone, for keeping Sacred Journey Devotionals in your thoughts and prayers. Our cyber family is growing and I’m so excited. Please share the devotionals with your friends and family, as you feel led.
Psalm 119:105
New King James Version (NKJV)

Spirit of the Living God, you wanted a relationship with us from the very being. Your highest goal has always been having relationship with your creation.
Thank you for not stopping with Adam and Eve. Thank you for not stopping with burnt offering and sacrifices. Thank you for not stopping at the cross. You gave us eteral access and eternal relationship on THE THIRD DAY, When you rose with ALL POWER IN YOUR HAND. You conquered DEATH AND THE GRAVE!!!!
Thank you for the Resurrection!!! Hallelujah
Luke 24:1-7
New King James Version (NKJV)
He Is Risen
24 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.
5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”
Amen, Amen, and Amen!!!!!
Jesus Paid it All, Family. Go in peace, while serving and praising the Lord.
What a great and perfect day it is to praise the Lord!!! It is a privilege to say that we are children of the Father. Through our kinship with Jesus Christ, we have become heirs and coheirs into the kingdom and family of God.
One thing each Christian believer has in common is that we each had to make a personal declaration that Jesus was the only begotten, not made, Son of God. We also must believe that through the completed, victorious work on the cross, and resurrection from the grave, Christ died for our sins so that we may be saved and spend eternity in heaven.
One of my favorite songs to sing, regarding the day when Jesus Christ returns for his Bride, The Church, is “Ride On, King Jesus!” Those who have died will be caught up first and then those who remain will caught up with the Lord.
I pray continually for your Christian journey. When the time comes, on that great day, I wish you well. May God bless you and keep you faithful, until that great gettin’ up morning comes. Do not allow any man to cause you to stumble, while you are working down here. We all still have a lot of work to do.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Living Bible (TLB)
51 But I am telling you this strange and wonderful secret: we shall not all die, but we shall all be given new bodies! 52 It will all happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For there will be a trumpet blast from the sky, and all the Christians who have died will suddenly become alive, with new bodies that will never, never die; and then we who are still alive shall suddenly have new bodies too.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit IN HIS SEASON; his leaf shall not whither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Our Prayer:
Spirit of the Living God,
Let us be so saturated in YOU that when its time for our appointed season we would bear GOOD FRUIT. Let us be so saturated in your Word, your Will, and your Way that our FRUIT has no choice but to prosper.
Let it be, according to your WORD, in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
I’m sure by now that you have heard about the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others. Yesterday, I was in the car waiting for my husband to come out of Home Depot. All of a sudden my cell phone started chiming and dinging. I looked down and read what was coming across my screen. What do you mean Kobe Bryant is dead???!!! I wanted so bad to run inside the store and find my husband to tell him. My husband had so much respect and love for Kobe Bryant.
After a few moments, each man that I saw coming out of Home Depot had the same look of shock on their face. It’s was a pain that no one was ready for, yesterday. The more information we learned, our hearts just broke. My husband and I cried.
We prayed for their family and the road they would be facing. Death is never easy, but when its sudden and unexpected it hurts even more. Please keep the Bryant family and Vanessa’s extended family in your prayers, as well as the other family that lost their lives.
I know there will be a lot of people that have questions, including me. A great deal of people will ask, “Why God?” I wish I knew why anyone had to die. I don’t know the answer. All I can do is pray for strength, peace, and understanding over time.
John 14:27
New King James Version (NKJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
I pray your morning is starting off with glory and praise to our Lord. This is a brand new year. A fresh start in so many ways. I pray that the things we need to grow in, this year, will become easy for us to accomplish.
Not every road promises to be easy, but we do have the promise of not having to walk alone. We will not allow fear to keep us from our Greatness in Christ. We will not fear the unknown, when God calls us to step out on faith and trust. When we face a road that we cannot see, we will grab the hand of God and follow him. We won’t look down and be paralyzed by fear. We will walk by faith and not by sight, as the Word of God instructs us in 2 Corinthians 5:7.
Psalm 23
Living Bible (TLB)
23Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need!
2-3 He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet streams. He gives me new strength. He helps me do what honors him the most.
4 Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way.
5 You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies. You have welcomed me as your guest; blessings overflow!
6 Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home.
I greet you with love, joy, and total peace in the Lord, Jesus Christ. We glorify your name Lord. We place nothing ahead of you, or in place of you. You alone are worthy of our worship and praise
May we forever recognize and realize that you deserve our first worship of the day. We say, “Yes, we will give you all the praise, honor, and glory that is due your name.”
Revelation 15:2-4
New International Version (NIV)
2 And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God3 and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. 4 Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
Family, have you ever had something in your spirit that caused you to question God’s instructions? When you had a plan set in your head, but God came in and changed your plan, how did you respond to God?
It’s like you are running a race and you can see the finish line in the distance. Then all of a sudden God says, “Stop, don’t go straight. Turn right at the big oak tree.” You say to God, “Lord, I need to go straight, because the finish line is straight ahead. Don’t you see it Lord, it is right there?” Then there is a silence because God did not change his mind from what He told you to do.
After a while, you submit to the will of the Lord and turn right. The path to the right brought a new and deeper level of trust and dependence on the Lord. When you walked the path in obedience, you discovered that there were things you needed to learn before you crossed the finish line. You realized the straight line doesn’t always mean a clear line.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says that if we trust in the Lord and lean not to our understanding, he will make our path straight. In the instance of this scripture, the word “straight” does not mean directly forward, it means “Clear.” God will make our path Clear. Clear and directly forward mean two different things.
This morning, I encourage you to trust in the Lord. Listen to God in the whisper. Even when you, or those around you, may think what God is telling you doesn’t make sense. Trust in the Lord anyway.
Proverbs 3:5-6
New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
