Author: Sacred Journey Devotionals: A Journey To Wholeness
I am a child and friend of the Triune God. This devotional documents my divine and sacred journey on the path that God has set for my life. I am connected to ALL that is a divine and loving reflection of God. It is my desire to share words and uplifting music that helps us tap into the powerful and life changing mind of Christ, so that we can experience exceedingly abundantly living, both here on earth and beyond.
I pray you are well and positioned in a place where God can speak to your heart.
During this season, the heart of man is being exposed. May we be vulnerable, as a global nation, to the surgical hands of the Holy Spirit. May we willingly climb onto God’s operating table.
1 John 1:5-10
New International Version (NIV)
Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a] sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
May the peace of the Lord rest, rule and abide with you always.
I greet you with love and grace this morning. You are a divine, purposeful, and magnificent work of our Creator.
Think about it, the same God that hung planets in the sky also created you and me. You and I were fearfully and wonderfully made on purpose and FOR a Purpose!!!
Psalm 139:14-18 (NIV)
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.
Go in peace, while praising and serving the Lord. I love you with the amazing and everlasting love of the Lord.
I continue to pray your strength in the Lord. Stay covered with the Holy armour of the Lord. Don’t grow weary in seeking God. Just as Jesus told his disciples in Luke 11, keep knocking on heavens door.
Luke 11:5-10 (NIV)
5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread;6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity[a] he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Be abundantly blessed and willfully obedient to the voice and urging of the Holy Spirit.
May the God who never changes be with you in all that you do. Never get weary in doing the right thing. Love your neighbor, in the same manner you would want to be loved.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14
New International Version
13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.14 Do everything in love.
We are stronger together than we are apart. Stand fast and hold firm in your efforts to show love.
I shared this story this weekend on my Facebook page, but I wanted to share it with you. This took place on Saturday June 6th.
Something Wonderful Happened Today…
I had just finished putting my groceries in my SUV. I turned my radio on and was about to put my car in reverse when someone knocked on my passenger window. At first, I thought maybe I had left something inside the store. It was an older white man who said he saw my door magnet advertising my business. What he said next floored me.
He said, “Can I pray for you?” I paused for a minute, out of shock and then I happily said, “Yes.” He asked me my name and then these words began to flow from him.
“Dear Lord, I pray that you would cover Marcia as she transforms the world around her. I pray that you would cover her from anything that would leave a scar on her heart, during this time. May she be used by You for your glory, in Jesus name, Amen.”
Y’all, when I say I was crying and so touched by his prayer! In this season of transformation and change, somebody got it and reached across the aisle to grab my hand.
I dont know his name, but I pray that I get to see him again, just to say, “Thank You” one more time.
I know today’s musical choice isn’t a gospel or Christian song, but it is a reminder that we can each do our part to change the world and make it a better place.
Go in peace, while praising and serving the Lord.
I love you with the amazing and everlasting love of Christ.
One thing that is always a constant is change. Change sometimes is painful. Change sometimes is beautiful. Change allows space for life, for survival and for hope.
For some, change causes anxiety and fear, as it is the closing of a door to allow the opening of another.
One thing I love about living in Georgia is because it has four distinct seasons. There is a time for each season to show off its beauty. However, in order for each season to arrive, it means that another season has to go away. Change in seasons is beautiful. Each seasons shines in it’s own way.
Also, what I love is that each seasons contains so many beautiful elements. The elements dont compete with each other. No element is better than the other, but they all work in perfect harmony with each other. Everything is beautiful.
How can we learn from nature? What lessons are we missing?
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8English
Standard Version (ESV)
A Time for Everything
3 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
Family, we can do this. We can live, love and work together. For indeed, everything and everyone is beautiful.
Special Note: Thank you to Ms. Yolanda Fanning for inspiring this post. Thank you for always allowing God to shine so brightly through you and your smile.
Go in peace, Family, while praising and serving the Lord.
Whew, I feel like we need a global deep inhale and exhale….whoosaaa.
In real estate, I would always here the phrase, “location, location, location.” Being in the right place would determine success or failure, especially when it comes to business.
In today’s climate, the most important factor is where our hope and trust reside. For me, all of my hope is in Jesus. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God’s location never changes. He is always right there with us.
We just have to remember where we live. We must stop trying to change our address. Our address is Wherever God is.
Psalm 33:20-22
New Living Translation
20 We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. 22 Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.
Family, may your hope continually be in the One who loves you the most, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
Love is a neverending force that is the strongest force in the Universe. Love does not buckle and does not fail. I continue to have hope in humanity and hope in Love. I do understand that I cannot get weary in going good, because my seeds of good will harvest fields of good from others.
The universal law is true, “What you plant is what you harvest.”
Psalm 30:4-5
New International Version (NIV)
4 Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
I try to always be transparent with you, as I believe that truth is liberating and freeing.
First, let me say that I am so blessed to have subscribers from literally every continent on the globe. I’m glad that Sacred Journey Devotionals is a place that we all know and understand that we a family of many ethnicities.
These past few days and weeks, I have truly been struggling with being a Light. I am an African-American woman, who was born and raised in the South to two very well educated and professional parents. My mother was very vocal during the civil rights movement and my father made history, in the small Tennessee town where we lived.
My mother participated in sit-ins and other civil rights activities and my father was one of the first black men to ever work at the Oakridge Nuclear Power Plant. Initially, he and other black men had to receive a military escort into the plant. I did not learn about this until the year my father died from cancer.
I thought, as the years progressed, that our culture would drastically be more progressive, inclusive and accepting. It seems as though every time I turn on the news now and I see so many of our African American men, boys and children being terrorized.
This weekend, watching the news, I see the knee of an officer on a handcuffed man’s neck. I just watched the video in horror and just cried. I thought about my husband immediately and I became terrified.
My husband goes out each week and works so hard for our family. However, he knows that in order for him to ensure his safety, he tries not to travel at night or to travel alone if working outside of the state.
I literally had a panic attack this morning watching him leave the house. He just held me and let me cry. I’m telling you all this so that you can understand my heart.
I come from a beautiful ethnically diverse family. We love each other so much. I just wish I knew what to do to help change the world.
I have faith in the Lord, it’s people that scare me. Please pray for the hearts of man to change.
When I realize that a mask was being worn by a familiar face, I was confused, hurt and dazed.
I called the “Masked One” a friend.
I gaze now, trying to figure out who has been looking at me this whole time. Is it…. Was it …. a friend OR foe?
The Spirit, that whispers, was able to tell me in time, “Look behind Its back.”
I didn’t want to believe it, but Spirit kept repeating, “Look behind its back.”
Tears fell, when I saw a brief glimpse of something shiny in Its hand.
Why, I dont understand, what have done?
Spirit whispers, “What is behind Its back was not meant to attack you. The weapon is to self inflict. The “Masked One” is not whole. I’m waiting for IT to hand it over to me. The Masked-One does not realize that as long as something is in Its hand, IT wont be able to reach for Me.”
I say a quiet prayer, “Spirit, free It from its self imposed prison. Set IT free.”
Spirit replies, “I cant until It cries out for Me.”
