Perfectly Loved…

Good morning, Precious Family:

I greet you this morning with the never-ending, infinite and perfect love of God, in Christ Jesus.

In a world where everything about us is judged, scrutinized, and laid bare, it is so good to know that through the Blood of Jesus we are perfectly loved.

The Word of God is the best love story ever written. What other love story do you know of someone being willing to lay down their life even before you have met.

1 John 4:7-11

New King James Version

Knowing God Through Love

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

On a very personal note, I have the great honor, privilege, and pleasure to be married to an amazing African American man. Whenever he leaves our home I always want him to carry with him that he is perfectly loved. I want him to know no matter what the world dishes out, whenever he returns home Jesus and I will be waiting to love him all over again. No matter what the world tells him he is my kind of perfect.

Beloved, may your encounters with your family be surrounded in love. May hope and grace abound in your life.

Be abundantly blessed,

Rev. Marcia Davis

  1. Whenever I read this scripture, it makes me think of the quote by English poet Alfred, Lord Tennison, “It’s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.” I can’t imagine not loving. I thank and praise God for his love for me and for showing me how to love others.
