It’s Not Selfish To Love…

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Perfect Grace and Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

Family, so many of us have busy lives. We have mastered the art of multitasking so well that we go and go until we are almost at the point of exhaustion when we crawl into bed.

When we keep the same nonstop pace day after day and week after week, it gets very easy to feel burnout, frustrated, tired, and just simply depleted.

Family, I can not stress enough that SELF CARE is crucial in our lives. Self care is NOT SELFISH!!! It is actually essential. It’s important for us to be at a place where it is okay for us to stop and take a few deep cleansing breaths. Breathing in slowly and mindfully and then slowly blowing out the stresses of the day, week, month, and maybe even year.

As Christians, when we take those long and cleansing deep breaths, it is helpful to sometimes visualize a place of peace and tranquility. For me, when I take my deep breaths, I visualize myself as an eagle soaring high above everything and letting go of everything that weighs me down. I meditate on two scripture passages while breathing.

Holy Scriptures for Meditation

Scripture 1

Isaiah 40:28-31

Tree of Life Version

28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
Adonai is the eternal God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not grow tired or weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives strength to the weary,
and to one without vigor He adds might.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall,
31 but they who wait for Adonai
    will renew their strength.
They will soar up with wings as eagles.
They will run, and not grow weary.
They will walk, and not be faint.

Scripture 2

Matthew 11:28-30

Tree of Life Version

28 Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and ‘you will find rest for your souls.’ [a] 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Family, take time to stop and take care of yourselves. Even God took a day to stop and rest. I pray that you are able to be restored to a place of healing, restoration, and hope.

I love you with the everlasting love of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Redeemer. Amen.

Choose Victory!!!

Good morning, Family:

May the perfect peace and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

Family, do you remember the song from church entitled ‘Victory is Mine‘? The song was recorded by Ms. Dorothy Norword. This song has been in my mouth all week long. The words to the song came out of my mouth every time I was making decisions. I started singing…

Victory is Mine, Victory is Mine, victory today is mine. I told Satan, get thee behind, victory today is mine. Joy is mine, joy is mine, joy today is mine, I told Satan, get the behind, joy today is mine.

Family, a life of following Christ, is a life of choices, discipline, and obedience. Not in a robotic, legalistic, or burdened way but as an outpouring of our love for Christ. We live our lives as a constant act of worship for the completed work that Christ did for conquering death, hell, and the grave.

Precious Ones, we have been given dominion over the enemy!!! We have the authority to step on the head of the enemy of our souls. So much of what we face is spiritual warfare, but we are getting beat up because we aren’t opening our mouths and speaking with Christian authority to the atmosphere and to the enemy.

Holy Scriptures

Ephesians 6:18

Tree of Life Version

[a] 18 Pray in the Ruach (Spirit) on every occasion, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, keep alert with perseverance and supplication for all the kedoshim (holy ones).

Family, you ALREADY have the victory. All you have to do is walk BOLDLY in it. I speak God’s protection and peace over each of you reading this. May the priceless and redeeming Blood of Jesus cover and go before you, as a shield against the enemies of your soul. I pray that the authority of who you ALREADY ARE would bubble up to the surface as you face your day.

Mezuzah

Greetings Precious Family and Happy 2025:

May God’s PEACE be with you always.

Family, recently, I have been studying the purpose and meaning of the Mezuzah after having a discussion with a dear friend. Once I began my research, my curiosity was peaked.

The Mezuzah is contained inside the cylindrical or rectangular box that is placed on the doorpost of a home and doorposts of the rooms in the home as well. The Mezuzah is the blessing, reminder, and prayer of the most important command from God, which in its simplest form is to love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength and to place God’s Word in your heart.

The Mezuzah Prayer

Blessed are You, Adonai, our God, Sovereign of the universe, who hallows us with mitzvot and commands us to affix the mezuzah“.

The scripture passage goes on to say that not only should believers place God’s Word in their heart and home, but to also teach their children about the goodness and blessings of God. It also goes on to say that a continual reminder should be wrapped around your wrists and placed on your forehead.

In essence, the Mezuzah is a prayerful reminder that God should never leave you. 🙏  As Christians and believers in the Holy Spirit, we have a Helper that continually leads, guides, and reminds us about our covenant with God. Even though we do not adorn our bodies with visual reminders, we are taught to study the Word to show ourselves approved.

The Mezuzah contains the scripture passages from the fifth book of the Torah, which is Deuteronomy 6:4–9 and 11:13–21.

Holy Scriptures

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

New Catholic Bible

The Law of Love.[a] Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. [b]Bind them as a reminder upon your hand, and wear them as a pendant between your eyes Write them on the doorframes of your houses and your gates.

Deuteronomy 11:13-21

13 [a]If you carefully observe the commandments that I give you today, to love the Lord, your God, and to serve him with all your heart and soul, 14 then he will provide the rain upon the land in its proper season, the fall rains and the spring rains, so that you can harvest your grain, your wine, and your oil. 15 I will provide grass in your field for your cattle, so that you may eat until you are full.

16 Only be careful not to let yourself be enticed, turning away and serving other gods, worshiping them. 17 Then the Lord’s anger would lash out against you. He would shut up the heavens so that there would be no rain, no produce from the land. Beware lest you soon perish in the good land that the Lord is giving you.

18 Rewards of Faithfulness. Fix these words in your heart and your soul, bind them as a reminder upon your hand, and wear them as a pendant between your eyes. 19 You are to teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. 20 You are to write them on the doorframes of your houses and your gates 21 so that your days and the days of your children will be multiplied in the land that the Lord promised to give them, lasting as long as the heavens cover the earth.

Worship Song

Family, I am a true believer that God can use so many ways to reach us about how to live a life that glorifies Him. If you need to bind a scripture to your arm, start your day with a prayer, continue praying throughout the day, sing a worship song from your heart, light a candle and have meditation, or any other outward gesture that helps you to grow closer…DO IT!!!!

Do whatever it takes to stay in the presence of God continually. Do whatever it takes to treat people with God’s love. Do whatever it takes to keep the Word of God in your heart.

Do whatever it takes!!!

Withholding Nothing

Good morning, Family:

I pray that today’s letter finds you all abiding safely in the peace of God. May that peace, in which we dwell, be evident in every area of our lives.

Family, the Holy Spirit of God is so precious and patient. The Holy Spirit leads and guides us in growth and knowledge of God so that we can share with the world around us the message of God’s greatest act of Love, which is the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of his only begotten son Jesus Christ.

With all that Jesus has done for us, for the sole purpose of having a relationship with Him, we are encouraged to withhold nothing from Him. If there are any areas of your life that you know are blocking you from total fellowship with God, it/they need to be removed. Give yourself away to God to use for His holy purposes.

May our heart’s cry be, “Lord, all I want is you.” May our lives be a continual act of worship, withholding nothing for God’s holy purpose for our lives.

Holy Scriptures

Romans 12:1-2

New International Version

A Living Sacrifice

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Deliverance

Good morning, Precious Family:

I pray this week’s letter finds you dwelling peacefully in the stillness of God.

One of the greatest gospel songs that I love is Deliver Me by LeAndria Johnson. Each time I hear it, I can feel the anointing that she is  singing under. There is such power in her words and in her truth of deliverance.

This week, I was singing Deliver Me, while stepping into the shower. In the very moment I started singing, all of a sudden, I started crying so hard, but continuing to sing. The song became my prayer, and I could feel a shift happen.

I knew that in that moment that whatever assignment that been sent to attack me was broken off of me. I stepped out of shower (The Water) a different person. My soul felt lighter. I didn’t feel weighed down.

I began to praise God, and in that time, I instantly stopped eating foods that did not heal me. I started eating whole foods only. God is preparing me for my next season. He delivered me. He saved me from living a painful and agonizing existence.

Is there anything in your life separating you from God? Is there anything in your life that is keeping you from living and existing in complete and total abundance (physical, mental, financial, and spiritual)?

Holy Scriptures

Psalm 30

New International Version

A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple.[b] Of David.

I will exalt you, Lord,
    for you lifted me out of the depths
    and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
Lord my God, I called to you for help,
    and you healed me.
You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;
    you spared me from going down to the pit.

Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;
    praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
    but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
    but rejoicing comes in the morning.

When I felt secure, I said,
    “I will never be shaken.”
Lord, when you favored me,
    you made my royal mountain[c] stand firm;
but when you hid your face,
    I was dismayed.

To you, Lord, I called;
    to the Lord I cried for mercy:
“What is gained if I am silenced,
    if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
    Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
10 Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me;
    Lord, be my help.”

11 You turned my wailing into dancing;
    you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
    Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

Inside or Outside

Good morning, Precious Family:

Oh, how I always miss you when I don’t get a chance to write. I pray this letter finds you in the perfect peace and will of God. If so, I know that no matter what is going on in your life, you will be able to face anything.

One of my absolute favorite gospel songs is entitled Will of God by the Clark Sisters. Karen Clark-Sheard featured the song on her Finally Karen live recording. The recording was the first time that the world was introduced to her daughter Kierra “Kiki” Sheard.

Karen was not only teaching her daughter in the family way of music and worship, but she was also teaching Kiki about spiritual warfare. Here are a few lines from the song that Karen was teaching her daughter:

The devil knows in all the world
There’s danger in the Lamb.
The safest place in the whole wide world
Is in the Master’s Hand
It may be on the battlefront
Or in, or in, or in the prison walls
But wherever, wherever, wherever it may be
If God says “Go,” if God says “Go,”
You put your trust in Him!
Go! If He says go! If He says go! If He says go!
You do what Christ tell you to do! You said go!
Go! Go…

Family, this is the reason that I always share a worship video with you at the end of each devotional letter to you. I know that you may not remember the words that I wrote, but you will remember the song that was played.

I was called to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ from a very young age. As long as I can remember, I have been connected to Christ, and I know His voice. What I want for you, more than anything, is to be covered and protected by God.

Please, keep the Lord in your heart. Seek Him with all you have. Study the Word of God so that you will be able to separate and distinguish His voice above all others. One day, it may just save your life.

The SAFEST PLACE is INSIDE the will of God.

I love you all with the amazing and everlasting love of our Lord and Savior Jesus, The Christ.

Crying Out…

Greetings, Precious Family:

I pray this week’s post finds you in a place of peace. As we walk with our Lord, we walk knowing that we are never alone. I know that we have all gone through seasons in our lives where we may feel as though God has abandoned us.

One thing my mother would always say, when I felt that God’s presence was gone from my life, is that God never walks away from us, but instead it is us who have knowingly or unknowingly walk away.

In those times, it is we who must humbly cry out to God and ask Him to pull us from the place we have found ourselves. We may have fast, pray, and consecrate our lives back to God, just as the Prophet Joel spoke about in the Old Testament. Without fail, God will hear the sincerity in our cry.

Scriptures of Consecration

Joel 1:13-20

New International Version

A Call to Lamentation

13 Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn;
    wail, you who minister before the altar.
Come, spend the night in sackcloth,
    you who minister before my God;
for the grain offerings and drink offerings
    are withheld from the house of your God.
14 Declare a holy fast;
    call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
    and all who live in the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
    and cry out to the Lord.

15 Alas for that day!
    For the day of the Lord is near;
    it will come like destruction from the Almighty.[a]

16 Has not the food been cut off
    before our very eyes—
joy and gladness
    from the house of our God?
17 The seeds are shriveled
    beneath the clods.[b]
The storehouses are in ruins,
    the granaries have been broken down,
    for the grain has dried up.
18 How the cattle moan!
    The herds mill about
because they have no pasture;
    even the flocks of sheep are suffering.

19 To you, Lord, I call,
    for fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness
    and flames have burned up all the trees of the field.
20 Even the wild animals pant for you;
    the streams of water have dried up
    and fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness.

Family, may we all be in a place that we are so close to God’s heart that we can hear in the whisper.
