Day 8 of 365: Showing Up

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Today is a day that I am in bed early because my body is in so much pain. However, one thing I did today was show up. I may not have shown up at 100%, but I pressed and did what God gave me the strength to do. We have to remember that our walk is not always about us. You would be surprised by how many people need your light, presence, and energy. One of the things I always say is, “Showing up is half the battle.”

Scripture of the Day

Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV):

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, we humbly ask you to remind us daily of the work that is still ahead of us. Give us strength and joy to walk out the high calling that is set before us. Help us not to grow weary in well doing. The reward is knowing that we pleased you. It is the name of Jesus that we pray.

And we let it be…And so it

Amen, Amen, and Amen

Valleys and Crossroads

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

I pray that this letter finds you in the will of God. I am writing you from my current path that has been ordained for me. So many times in my past, when I encountered difficult or hard places of my journey, I would choose the easy or less strenuous path. The problem in choosing the easy way is that I don’t grow and I get comfortable.

Over the past year, I decided to say, “Yes” to the more difficult Paths. The end result is that I have faced so many things that have tested and challenged me. I’ve cried tears, I’ve screamed at God, and I screamed at myself.

Getting out of my own way has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. It has been a matter of changing the way I look at life and the world around me. When I changed my mind, I changed my world.

Now, I am on a new path, and I have encountered amazing truths about myself and the world around me. I am learning to be a student of the Universe as a liberated child of God. I have learned that there is so much in me that had never been tapped into until recently. That is the reason I have been quiet for the last few weeks. I was in a season of metamorphosis. I’m grateful for the person I am changing into. I know that this is just the beginning.

Holy Scriptures

Colossians 3:12-17

New International Version

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

It’s Already Alright…

Greetings, Precious Family:

It is with the complete and encompassing Peace of the Lord that I write this letter to you.

I joyfully remind each of you, AND ME, that the Lord’s Peace is something that is always available to us. It is not something that comes automatically. We have to choose to accept it. When fear, trouble, trauma, bills, and even when death comes, we can still decide to accept and rest in God’s peace.

Scriptures of Peace

Philippians 4:6-7

Modern English Version

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your requests known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:12-17

Modern English Version

12 So embrace, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, a spirit of mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, and longsuffering. 13 Bear with one another and forgive one another. If anyone has a quarrel against anyone, even as Christ forgave you, so you must do. 14 And above all these things, embrace love, which is the bond of perfection.

15 Let the peace of God, to which also you are called in one body, rule in your hearts. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Family, a new season is just around the corner. If everything has seemed chaotic and out of control, God just needed to give you time to get it under control and corrected.

One thing I know for sure is that as God is preparing us for GREATER. He will not allow us to move forward if part of our life is out of order. He will be on our timetable. If it takes us one day, one month, or one year, God will not allow anything that needs to be corrected to move into our new season or “house.”

Just like preparing to move from one house to another, we may need to have garage sales, donations to charity, or just throw things way. No matter what, it’s NOT COMING to the new house.

Trust me, I’ve had to change a lot of things in my life once I realized God was not going to advance me in my old mindset. My report card was not good, and I failed a couple of life classes.

So now, I can gladly say that I have made some big changes in my life, and I am much happier, and I definitely have more peace. I still have more work to do. God is definitely STILL working on and with me.

Family, keep pushing forward. Don’t get “comfortable” in a season or mindset you were not meant to dwell in long-term.

We can do this!!!!!
