Be Patient

be-patient-7

Patient is indeed a virtue. In today’s modern world of instant gratification and right now expectations, patience is a rare occurrence.

However,  when it comes to God doing a work in your life, or a season in your life, patience is a must. The work that God performs in us usually involves a Process. As we know, process takes time. No steps can be omitted or averted.

Today, rest in knowing that God is Faithful to complete the divine work he began in you. (Philippians 1:6)

Be well and abundantly blessed,

Rev. Marcia Davis

Still here…

Wow, what a year 2016 has been. It’s amazing to think that in three days this year will be in the past. There have been so many changes and shifts on a personal level, as well as a corporate and global level.

The one thing that has remained the same is sureness of God. Whenever there are changes and shifts there tends to be anxiety and fear. The constant factor is that God remains the same. All that is necessary, to rest in the peace of God, is to Be Still and know that the Creator has it all under control.

Psalm 46:10 New International Version (NIV)

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Coming Full Circle…

fb_img_1481132785032The Sacred Journey symbol of the cross, dove and lotus was inspired from my spiritual journey. Like any other relationship, the relationship we have with God has to be nourished and active.

A few years ago, I had a lot of questions regarding my spiritual path. For every answer, it seemed, I had three more questions for God. Those questions led me on the Path to studying the core philosophies of Buddhism. Buddhism, as a philosophy, does not believe in a Higher Power or deity. It forces you to hold a mirror to your face and take responsibility for your actions, without placing blame on anyone or anything else.

Over the months and weeks of studying, it was the act of me taking responsibility for my actions and looking at my life that led to a still small voice in my heart to say, “Marcia, I loved you so much that I paid it ALL.”

It was in that moment that I began to weep and worship at the same time. So what is this post about today, you ask? Never forget the Grace, Majesty and Power of the Cross. Jesus paid it ALL. I am grateful to God for using Buddhism to help me come full circle, back to the Cross.

The chorus from one of my favorite gospel songs says, “Jesus, I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me. Jesus, I’ll never forget how you set me free. Jesus I’ll never how you brought me out. Jesus, I’ll never forget, no never.”

Namaste and God bless,

Rev. Marcia

Did I Make God Look Good Today?

17-matthew-5-14_16-let-your-light-shine

Matthew 5:16

New King James Version (NKJV)

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

In the morning, before I leave the house there are three things that I pray:

1. Father, lead me and guide me in your way and in your service.

2. Cover and protect me and my husband from all hurt, harm and danger, both seen and unseen.

3. Help me to make YOU look good today. Help me to put your agenda before mine. I want to have a heart that longs to please you. Let nothing in my life compete for your attention.

AMEN.

What prayers do lift up in the morning?

How do you connect with God, as you know God? What are your spiritual practices?

What keeps you centered?

A Peace that passes ALL understanding…

John 14:27

New International Version (NIV)

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

There is an unshakable  peace that dwells in those that trust God. It is a peace where no matter the circumstances, a person’s heart is secure because their hope and trust is in God.

My prayer for us today:

“Allow our hearts to rest and abide in the Greatness of who You are, God. May our feet be surely footed on the Power and Majesty of your name.”

Love, your servant,

Rev. Marcia Davis

Positioned for Thankfulness

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

The season of Thanksgiving is upon us.  We have become accustomed to having a meal with friends and family, getting full and relaxing, while others gear up to prepare for the shopping frenzy called ..Black Friday.

Is this TRULY what being Thankful is all about?

I challenge us all to make every day, every minute and every hour a reason to say, “Thank You”.

We aren’t saying, “Thank You” because we have acquired material things. We say, “Thank You” because we have breath in our bodies, a beat in our heart, and hope for another day.

Most of us have more than enough. Find a way, every day, to be a blessing to someone else.

I love you and I give Thanks for you.

Rev. Marcia Davis

Be Gentle….

16081

Love is a healer.

We have heard the scripture passage in 1St Corinthians 13 that  Love is patient and love is kind. So many times we attribute that passage to  married couples or how we should live our lives toward others. All of those things are completely true and correct.

However, the person who misses out the most on that passage of scripture is US as individuals. We are so busy loving everyone else that we forget to love OURSELVES.

As we are coming up on this holiday season and almost at the start of a new year. I want to personally challenge you to love yourself.

No, it’s not selfish…

No, it’s not rude….

Take time to be Gentle with yourself.

Make time to show yourself some Tender Loving Care.

From my heart to yours,

Rev. Marcia Davis

Psalm 51:10

081407013039

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

I was ministering to young man this weekend who had lost his way. He was a truck driver and owned his own company. He used to be a pastor of a church and his wife was over praise and worship at their church.

He came to ask for prayer and said, “What is the secret for living a pure life?” I told him that there was no secret. A person’s spiritual life is about surrendering your will to God, and asking Him to lead, guide and direct you every day. I told him that every morning when he wakes up to thank God for a new day and ask the Holy Spirit to show him the Good Way.

Ask God to create a right heart, mind and spirit with you so that you can do His perfect will.

I love you with an amazing Love,

Rev. Marcia Davis

Trust…

In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:6.

Trusting, someone or something,  can be one of the most difficult and challenging things for us to do.

Trust takes faith, courage, commitment and dedication. I have learned, above all else, that I can trust Divine Love. I can trust God.

It wasn’t always that way. It was hard trusting God through my experiences of hurt, pain, disappointment and fear of the unknown.

Divine Love has proven Itself over and over again. I can now Boldly sing the old gospel hymn, ” I Will Trust in the Lord”.

Be blessed today and know that God will lead you in love, for His Glory and for your good.

I love you with an amazing Love,

Rev. Marcia

It is well with my soul….

One of my favorite hymns is the song, “It Is Well With My Soul”. The lyrics of the first verse are:

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well
With my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
Today know that Divine Love, Light, and Peace surrounds you and enfolds you.
Know, with ASSURANCE, that it is already well in your mind, body, spirit and soul.

John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
