Postured to Listen… The Still Small Voice of God.

EarToTheGround

Picture an old country dirt road. You see an old man on his hands and knees with his ear to the ground. He is listening for a certain sound or a particular vibration. But why?

In the older days people would put their ear to the ground in order to get a forewarning of what is coming. They would then take the information and prepare accordingly.

We too need to keep our spiritual ears in tune with the Holy Spirit. We do this by studying the Word of God, having intimate secret time with God, and by listening to the whisper of his voice and prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Can you hear God’s voice? Can you feel his urging? Can you feel his heart beat? Can you hear the whisper? If not, reposition your self and dig deeper in the ground.

Our Prayer:

Holy Spirit of the Living God, Breakout in our lives. We want to feel heaven touching us. Help us and direct us in the position that will bring us closer to you. Do what you need to do to get our attention. Manifest your Glory.  In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Chief Intercessor. Amen

Love, Respect, Testimony…

In training for my ordination into the ministry, the institution I studied under made it mandatory to study a lot of different faiths from all over the country and the world.

I’m so grateful that I had that experience. I found myself having great respect for the people that I met and the different houses of faith we visited. We studied Buddhism, Jainism, Islam, Christian Science, Hinduism many others.

Our schools foundation is Jesus Christ. What I learned, more than anything is that so many other faiths had great respect for Jesus and some even admitted that on more than one occasion that they wanted to accept Jesus into their heart as their Lord and Savior.

I had to ask the most obvious question, “What stopped you from accepting Jesus?” Their answer broke my heart. The reason was because of the church. They felt unwanted and like an outsider. They said, if “the church” was more like the Jesus in the bible that they would have loved to be a Christian.

What does that say about us, Church? How can we be more like Jesus to a world that is crying out? If you were a member of another faith or religion, looking in from the outside, would you still come to Jesus?

Does the church require more than Jesus required? Are we showing God’s love and acceptance of the adulterer, the homeless, the sick, the outcast?

Jesus remains the same and His love Never gives up, on you, on me, or on anyone that calls His name.

Enjoy today’s worship video. Truly listen.

I love you with an AMAZING LOVE.

Thankfulness…

Good morning,

One of the most beautiful times of the year is the fall/ autumn season. The leaves on the trees are a beautiful array of golds, oranges, browns and green.

God’s imagination always amazes me. Every day, I wake up telling God, “Thank You.”

What are you thankful for today? Don’t forget to tell God how Thankful you are.

Sometimes this week, step outside, take a deep breath and on exhale say, “Thank You.” Repeat this several times until you feel a warm calm wash over you. You may start to praise God. You may begin to cry. You may be able to hear a still small voice. I recommend playing this song during this time, or you may want to be in complete silence.

Music has a way of taking me to a different place in my head and heart.

Is Your Faith on Trial…

20171106_073214

Good morning, All:

I’m sure, by now, most of the country has heard about the terrible tragedy that took place in the small Texas town yesterday.

Whether it’s a mass shooting at a church in the news, or a coach being banned from praying with his team of high school athletes, it seems like Christians are being attacked and silenced all over the world.

How should we respond when our rights to believe and being a Christian are attacked every day?

If you can, take time to read: Acts 16:16-40. It is a long but powerful scripture passage regarding how standing on your faith can reap great rewards.

If you are a lover, disciple and follower of Jesus Christ, never be ashamed of the Cross. Never grow silent. Never look the other way when you see injustice. If we dont stand up, then who will?

Our Prayer:

Father God, thank you for calling us as your own. May everything we do, throughout our days, bring glory and honor to and your only begotten son. May we stand boldly in the face of evil and shine your light brightly among all  men, so that they will also want to know about the Everlasting God that we serve. We seal this prayer and call it so, by the blood and resurrection power of your Son and our Redeemed, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Please take your place in line and interlock your arms with your Christian brothers from around the world. From every tribe, every nation and every language. Stand Up!!!!

Onward Christian Soldiers!!!!

A Sacrificial Offering of Praise…

20171103_070831

Happy Friday, Saints:

I pray this morning’s devotional finds everyone well and at peace.

I love Friday mornings. It means we get to finish the work week on a High praise.

So this morning we are walking in accord with the Word of God that reads:

Hebrews 13:15-16

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

15 Our sacrifice is to keep offering praise to God in the name of Jesus. 16 But don’t forget to help others and to share your possessions with them. This too is like offering a sacrifice that pleases God.

Have a great weekend and know that I love you with an AMAZING LOVE.

Happy Anniversary

A year ago today, I began this on-line devotion. So many things have happened in time span of a year. I have grown to trust God more. I have also grown in my faith and my obedience to the Lord.

At first, this devotional journey was only once or twice a week. Then the Holy Spirit led me to write five days a week.

I pray that over the past year that you have been fed, either by the message or by the music, or both. Every person’s journey, through this life, is both sacred and divine. I am just here to provide encouragement along the way.

I am so grateful that God has never let go of me. I serve the Lord because it is my way of saying, “Thank You, God, for never giving up on me. Please use me however you need me.”

I love you with an AMAZING LOVE. Be blessed in all you do.

Rev. Marcia Davis

The worship video today is special to me. God is continually changing me, shaping me and molding me. This is the song that I selected the evening I was ordained into the ministry to be a servant for the Kingdom of God. The song is performed by Tramine Hawkins and is entitled, “Changed.”

All My Hope…

Psalm 147:11

New International Version (NIV)

11 the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

What does it mean to put our hope in God? Hope signifies trust. Trust signifies assurance. Assurance signifies faith.

Hope in God means that we understand that God has a plan. One of the greatest lessons I learned about placing my Hope in God is that God works on many levels and is good at strategic planning.

It may look like God is off track, based on the circumstances of our life, but we know this to be true: God is doing everything for Our growth or His glory. It is impossible for God to fail.

I love you, with an AMAZING LOVE.

Walk With Me, Lord…

Happy Tuesday morning.

The are five guaranteed things that this life brings: Love, Loss, Change, Death and Life.

Every journey of this life is not promised to be easy. However, as Believers, we know that we never have to walk alone.

Sometimes our prayers are not answered the way we wish they would have been. That is why when we pray, we pray for the Lord’s will to be done.

Our prayer this morning, “Lord allow peace to rest and abide with me as I learn to submit to your will and your way. When questions come, help me to know that your ways are perfect. In Jesus’s name. Amen.”

Allow the worship video to minister to your heart. Micah Tyler is an amazing songwriter. May his words bless you and bring you peace. The song is entitled, “Different.”

I love you with an AMAZING LOVE.

You Are My Strength

Psalm 28:7

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

    You are my strong shield,
    and I trust you completely.
You have helped me,
    and I will celebrate
    and thank you in song.

Good Monday Morning:

Father God: We  lift your name and give you the Highest praise. Go with us today and lead us in your will and your way.  Be our strength and fortress. You go before us and prepare the way. You ARE our Strength. Amen.

Be blessed today. Meditate on today’s worship video performed by William Murphy entitled, “You Are My Strength.”

The Least of These…

Matthew 25:37-40

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

37 Then the ones who pleased the Lord will ask, “When did we give you something to eat or drink? 38 When did we welcome you as a stranger or give you clothes to wear 39 or visit you while you were sick or in jail?”

40 The king will answer, “Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me.”

Happy Friday, Everyone.

I missed talking to you yesterday, but I am here today and feeling much better.

Today’s devotional is about showing love and compassion to everyone. Jesus’s first act, when encountering someone in need, was to provide the provision and then to teach or set free.

The same must be said of us, as we are Christ’s ambassadors. We represent the Cross and everything that it stands for.

Let everyone we encounter receive the same respect and honor we would show our Lord. The blessing we give to others will turn their mourning into dancing and their sorrows into joy.

Please enjoy today’s praise video performed by Michelle Williams entitled, “If We Had Your Eyes.”

I love you, with an AMAZING LOVE.
