Good morning, Family:

This morning, I was lead to write this devotional. As a shepherd, David began his life leading, guiding, herding and protecting sheep. It was all that he knew, up until the time he was anointed to be king.

When David wrote this Psalm, he wrote it in a way that illustrated that the roles had been changed. David was now in the one that needed to be led, guided and protected by the Great Shepherd, Jehovah.

Good morning, Beloved Family:

I hope you had a weekend filled with joy. If not, I pray that the Love of God would heal and transform the broken and fragile parts of your heart and the hearts’ of those around you. I truly wasn’t expecting to start the devotion off that way, but the Spirit of God urged me to write it.

 God knows and understands that not everyone experiences joy and happiness. The message I bring today is that of Love. When you are not able to find love from those around you, whether it’s family or friends, let me remind you that God is always there to offer a powerful and life changing Love. 

The love of and from God is unlike any love we can imagine. As a minister, I perform several weddings. One of the most popular scripture passages I read, during the ceremony, is 1 Corinthians 13. It’s also known as the “Love” Chapter. We think of Love when it comes to weddings, but we are the Bride of Christ, God is actually speaking to us and preparing us to take on our godly characteristic, now that we belong to Him.

God is telling us how He loves. And in the same manner wants us to love this way as well.

But when I became a man my thoughts grew far beyond those of my childhood, and now I have put away the childish things. ¹² In the same way, we can see and understand only a little about God now, as if we were peering at his reflection in a poor mirror; but someday we are going to see him in his completeness, face-to-face. Now all that I know is hazy and blurred, but then I will see everything clearly, just as clearly as God sees into my heart right now.

¹³ There are three things that remain—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

As the Bride of Christ, we represent our “Husband.” Go today and represent your family well.

Good morning, Highly Favored Family:

Happy Friday. We have been blessed with one more day to do great things in the world. We have been given one more day to show love, grace and mercy to all sentient beings that we encounter. 

I am so grateful to God that He never gave up on us. May we never give up on Him. He promised, in His Word, to finish the work that was began in us. May we stay close enough to  God that he doesn’t have to chase us down just to bless us. May we be ever-mindful that God has always had a perfect plan.

Good morning, Loved Ones:

We made it! This morning is day seven of our seven day journey into the Lord’s Prayer. We have taken our time to break down all seven sentences of the New King James Version of Matthew 6:9-13, The Lord’s Prayer. 

Today, we focus on the second sentence of verse 13 and the final sentence of the prayer, “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

In this verse of The Lord’s Prayer, Jesus is speaking and teaching about the same manner in which the prayer began. The Lord’s prayer begins by giving glory to God and holiness of His name. The prayer ends by again confirming that there is none like our God Jehovah.

Some bible scholars say that no other translation of this last sentence are worded in this manner, except for the King James Version. In saying that, there are still passages in the bible that support and confirm the closing line of the prayer. Let’s look at 1 Chronicles 29:11.

Today, rest in knowing that there truly is no one greater and no one like our God, Jehovah.

So, the next time you pray the Lord’s Prayer, think about this series that we just completed and pray the prayer with power and authority. End the prayer boldly with AMEN, because we come into agreement with all that we have said and ask God to let it be so.

This morning is day six of our seven day journey into the Lord’s Prayer. We will take our time to break down all seven sentences of the New King James Version of Matthew 6:9-13.

Today, we focus on the first sentence verse 13, “¹³ And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.”

In this verse of The Lord’s Prayer, Jesus is speaking and teaching about keeping our heart and mind free from what may cause us to pull away from the presence of God. Guard your heart. You are precious to God. 

This is what the Amplified Translation  Bible says about temptation and the enemy:

Good morning, Family:

This morning is day five of our seven day journey into the Lord’s Prayer. We will take our time to break down all seven sentences of the New King James Version of Matthew 6:9-13.

Today, we focus on verse 12, “¹² And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.”

In this verse of The Lord’s Prayer, Jesus is speaking and teaching about forgiveness. Forgiveness is easy to say but very hard to do. The bible tells us the meaning of this scripture, if read we a little bit further in verses 14 and 15. I love the way The Message Bible interprets the scriptures:

^14-15 “In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.

To me that is powerful and absolutely clear. Dont ask God to do for you what you won’t do for someone else. Today, join me in asking God to give us a heart like His. May we be ever mindful of the words that God was speaking through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

This morning is day four of our seven day journey into the Lord’s Prayer. We will take our time to break down all seven sentences of the New King James Version of Matthew 6:9-13.

Today, we focus on verse 11, “¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread.” 

In this verse of The Lord’s Prayer, Jesus is speaking and teaching about God in the character of a Provider, where we get Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Our Provider).

On the deeper level, Jesus understands that God, the Father, will provide us with more than just “bread.” God is the provider and supplier of everything that we need. So,  not only will God provide our daily bread, but He will also provide our daily peace, daily joy, daily healing, daily hope and so much more.

Jesus is just telling us not to worry about tomorrow or yesterday, but instead to be present TODAY.  God, The All Sufficient One, has everything handled. All we have to do is show up at The Table.

This morning is day three of our seven day journey into the Lord’s Prayer. We will take our time to break down all seven sentences of the New King James Version of Matthew 6:9-13.

Today, we focus on the second sentence of verse 10, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.“

In this verse of the prayer, Jesus is speaking on how we should be in agreement and perfect alignment with the will of God. As Christians, we come to know and understand that God’s thoughts are higher and deeper than our thoughts and his ways are higher than our ways. In knowing that, it is our job to adjust ourselves with the sound and vibration of heaven so that we may know what God’s perfect will is, both for our lives individually and also corporately as the body of Christ.

Growing up, on Saturday mornings, I would hear music coming from our garage. My father would be playing music on this really old radio German Radio SABA Freudenstadt. The radio was a special one because it was able to tune into different frequencies from all over the world. Whenever the sound got fuzzy, due to interference, the tuning knob would have to be adjusted so that the sound would be clear. So it is with us tuning into the voice of God and the sound of heaven. 

We are asking God for His will to be done on the earth and in our lives, as it has been spoken and decreed in heaven. We are asking God for the ears to hear. Holy Spirit, speak to our heart so that we may hear the sound of heaven and the will of God. 

Pray for God’s perfect will to be done in your life. We must know and understand that however God asks us to “shift” that it is necessary. We may not understand, but it is not our job to understand. It is our job to obey. Amen?

In this verse of the prayer, Jesus is speaking of God’s Kingdom that must be made manifest on earth. Here is what Jesus said about God’s Kingdom:

We are the dwelling place for the Kingdom of God. We are God’s Holy Ambassadors. So when Jesus prays, “Your Kingdom come,” I truly believe the prayer is for the heart and mind of man to experience a personal as well as corporate transformation into nature and character of God. The Kingdom of God is already in you. Ask God to open the eyes of your heart so that you may truly see who He Is.

This morning begins a seven day journey into the Lord’s Prayer. We will take our time to break down all seven sentences of the New King James Version of Matthew 6:9-13.

Today, we begin with verse 9, “Our Father, in heaven, hallowed be Your name.“ In this verse of the prayer, Jesus is giving us the template of how we should approach God. Before we ask anything of or from God, we must give Him the glory that is due His name. The name of God is holy and reverent. God’s name is sacred and Jesus reminds us to never forget what matters the most. God’s name encompasses so much. There are so many names that God goes by, solely based on His charter. So remember, as you begin to pray the Lord’s prayer, take your time and genuinely address God’s Holy name.
