Walk with Me…

#Peace, #Patience, #Love, #Understanding, #Acceptance, #Unity, #Family, #Brotherhood, #Family #UnitedStatesofAmerica

1 Corinthians 13:1-7

Living Bible

13 If I had the gift of being able to speak in other languages without learning them and could speak in every language there is in all of heaven and earth, but didn’t love others, I would only be making noise. If I had the gift of prophecy and knew all about what is going to happen in the future, knew everything about everything, but didn’t love others, what good would it do? Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be worth nothing at all without love. If I gave everything I have to poor people, and if I were burned alive for preaching the Gospel but didn’t love others, it would be of no value whatever.

Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone, you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him.

Our Prayer

Walk with us, Lord. Help us to remember that we are the UNITED States of America. Help us to see our brothers and sisters as equal citizens of heaven and earth. Father, cover our new panel of leadership that is posed to take office later this month. Let all three branches of our government work in perfect unity and respect with each other. In the name of Jesus I pray. Rev. Marcia Davis

Preparing a Place…

John 14:3

New International Version

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Today’s Thoughts

When Jesus tells us that he is going ahead of us to prepare a place for us, we have to understand the deeper meaning of what is being said.

The “place” does not always mean heaven. Your “place” may be a new job, a new state, or a new season. Our job, as the body of Christ, is to be so sensitive to the Lord’s voice and timing, that when he whispers, “The place I have prepared is ready for you now,” we are ready to shift.

The Prayer…

Gracious Father,

We long for more of you. We know that as we draw closer to you, your will for our lives becomes more clear. As we run after your voice, your presence, your will, purify our heart’s desire for more intimate worship with you. We hunger for you, not because of what we can get, but because of who you are, Lord God. Cleanse our hands, as they rise to heaven in worship. Purify our mouth, so that we can be worthy vessels for your Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Rev. Marcia Davis

Inside and Outside

Welcome 2021!!!! We are thrilled you are here. One of the best lessons I learned years ago is that outside stuff cannot fix inside problems. Issues of the heart, mind, spirit and soul requires mostly inside work to get at the core issues.

Problems of hatred almost never are solved by buying a boat. Problems with anger are almost never solved by drowning feelings in alcohol, drugs or any other substance. Inside problems require inside work. Sitting with our issues or “stuff” is never fun, but it is always necessary in facing the truth.

Cry out to God for help. The Lord may lead you to get help through therapy, support groups, or growing in a deeper spiritual relationship. The biggest lesson is to remember is that you are not alone. Let us make 2021 a year of transformation on the inside.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to you with love, gratitude and gratefulness for loving us enough not to leave us the way you found us. Our prayer is for you to be glorified and lifted high through our lives. Do whatever work needs to be done on the inside of us. Have your way, Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

A Single Sheep…

Luke 15:3-7

New International Version

3 Then Jesus told them this parable:(A) “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?(B) And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Our Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your unending, ever-flowing, compassionate and faithful love toward us your sheep. Even when one of us goes astray, your love calls out to us with the most beautiful love song. The way you rejoice when one is brought back to the fold is so beautiful. Thank you for giving us a heart for the lost, even when it’s not a popular or easy thing to do. May more of us have a heart like yours, in Jesus name. Amen.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Happy Birthday, Jesus

“Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Job 1:20-21

English Standard Version

20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Our Prayer

Father God,

Thank you for loving us enough to want the very best for us. When we are headed in a direction that is dangerous, thank you for loving us enough to change our direction, even if we kick and scream.

Thank you for loving us enough that when you see “dis-ease” in us you want to remove it and correct the problem. The scalpel of God is painful, but it is necessary to save our lives. We understand that the REMOVAL of the disease of pride, anger, greed, hatred or any other thing, that keeps us away from the will of God is the most loving thing God could do, no matter what the cost.

Father God we repent and ask you to heal our heart and our lives. We want our response to be like your servant Job’s when he said, “Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Give us the kind of heart, Lord, that no matter what comes, we can say, “Thank You,” because we know that you are working things out for our Good. In Jesus name, Amen.

I Will Bless Thee O Lord…

Psalm 86:9-13

Living Bible

9 All the nations—and you made each one—will come and bow before you, Lord, and praise your great and holy name. 10 For you are great and do great miracles. You alone are God.

1Tell me where you want me to go and I will go there. May every fiber of my being unite in reverence to your name. 12 With all my heart I will praise you. I will give glory to your name forever, 13 for you love me so much! You are constantly so kind! You have rescued me from deepest hell.

Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We open our mouths this morning and give you all the praise, glory, and honor that is due your name. We thank you Father for your steadfast love and faithfulness toward us. We lift our hands, in worship, to You in the heavens. Continuously keep our hearts faithfully turned toward you, in the name of Jesus we to pray. Amen.

My Soul Says, “Yes.”

Psalm 19:7-14

New International Version

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
    Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
    innocent of great transgression.

14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

OUR PRAYER

Precious Heavenly Father,

We thank you for continually stretching and molding us to your will. May our response always be, “Yes,” when you have need of us. May our motivation be pure and led by love and not fear. We glorify your name and thank you for your most precious gift, Jesus Christ our Lord, Savior and Redeemer. It is in His name that we lift this prayer to you. Amen.

Love Anyway…

1 John 4:20

New International Version

20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

OUR PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,

We glorify your name today. Each day, each morning, is a new chance to bring praises to you. May our love for you be also manifested in our love for our fellow man. Each person is our brother and sister. Lord, allow our love to make the News, instead of hate. Let forgiveness be our binder and grace be our glue. They will know we are yours by our love. Awaken our hearts to who we truly are in You, in Jesus name, Amen.

I’ll See You Again…

Good morning, Family:

A precious member of our church called me yesterday to check on me and to let me know about several church members that have passed on and transitioned to heaven. My husband and I sit in the section of the church with the senior members, because we love their wisdom, their worship, and their willingness to lead others in the right way.

When we do return to church and sit where we normally do, our hearts will break not seeing those lovely faces. Today, I honor them and tell them “Thank You” for all you shared while you were on this earth. You changed our lives. It was a joy to worship the King with you. I look forward to seeing you again.

I’ll See You Again by Richard Smallwood

Until we meet at Jesus feet,

Proclaiming the News…

Luke 2:8-14

New International Version

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Lord Jehovah:

Thank you so much for your faithfulness and love toward us. During this time of the year the world celebrates the ultimate gift you gave the world. May the Gift that truly never stops giving be celebrated even more this year, as the world cries out for hope, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior and Holy Gift. Amen.
