Day 146/147 of 365: What Is It About The Name of Jesus?

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, I was quiet yesterday, spending time thinking and praying about what our next series or topic should be. If there is something you would like to know more about or learn about, please leave me a comment.

One of the things I began thinking about was this: Do most Christians truly know why the name of Jesus is so powerful? What is it about the name of Jesus that carries so much authority?

Please forgive me if I sometimes go over things that many of you may already know. We have believers here at every stage of the journey, from brand new Christians to mature saints. My desire is to write in a way that everyone can understand and be fed spiritually.

I hope you are ready to dive into this new series with me entitled: “What Is It About the Name of Jesus?

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, Thank You for Your love, Your patience, and Your desire to reveal Yourself to us more each day. Thank You for every person who has gathered here tonight. Thank You for the seasoned believer whose faith has been tested and proven, and thank You for the new believer who is just beginning to discover the beauty of Your grace.

Lord, we come to Your table with open hearts and willing spirits. Some of us arrive with years of knowledge, while others come with questions. Some come confident in their faith, while others are still searching for understanding. Yet You welcome us all with the same love.

As we begin this new journey together, help us to set aside pride, assumptions, and distractions. Give us the heart of a student and the humility to learn. Open our eyes to see Jesus more clearly, our ears to hear His voice more faithfully, and our hearts to receive the truth of who He is.

Teach us the power of His name. Show us the authority, the grace, the mercy, and the salvation that are found in Jesus Christ alone. Let this not be merely a series of lessons, but an opportunity for us to draw closer to You and deepen our relationship with our Savior.

May every person who sits at this table find encouragement, wisdom, and a greater understanding of Your Word. Let questions be answered, faith be strengthened, and hearts be transformed by the truth of the Gospel.

We thank You for the invitation to come, to learn, to grow, and to know You more intimately. As we gather together, may Your Holy Spirit be our Teacher and Jesus Christ be the center of all that we do.

In the mighty, matchless, and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen, Amen, and Amen.

Day 144 / 145 of 365: For The Fallen Soldiers

Freedom Is Not Free

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, in the United States, Monday is Memorial Day, a day where we, as a country, take time to honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice: their lives in service to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

Even though our country is experiencing turmoil because of the political climate and the increase in hate and division, I still love this country. And I deeply love and respect the men and women who willingly leave their homes and families behind to serve the greater good.

My husband is one of those men. He loves his country deeply. He served in the Navy and had a lifelong goal of retiring from military service. Unfortunately, while serving, he was wounded and was unable to return to active duty doing what he loved most. He is still here.

So many soldiers never made it home at all. Tomorrow, we honor them.

John 15:13 (NIV)

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Whether you agree with the military or not, please take a moment to thank those who have served and remember those who sacrificed everything. A simple “Thank you for your service” can mean more than you know.

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, Monday we pause with grateful hearts to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to others. Comfort the families who still carry the weight of that sacrifice, strengthen those who continue to serve, and help us never take freedom for granted. Teach us to walk in love, unity, honor, and humility toward one another. May we always remember that true sacrifice reflects the greatest love of all. In Jesus precious name, Amen. And we let it be, and so it is.

Day 143 of 365: Final Part — Praying Through the Battle

Standing Strong Daily

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, we have made it to the final day of the mini nugget series on the Full Armour of God. Yesterday, I explained that the Sword of the Spirit was the last physical part of the armour, but that the armour was not totally completed until we talk about today, the final part of Full Armour of God. PRAYER!

So many people underestimate the power of prayer. Prayer is the last part of the armour of God, but it carries so much weight. Prayer can break down walls, free people in bondage and captivity. Prayer can charge God’s Holy Army of angles to be posted at the four corners of your bed and surround your dwelling places. Prayer can welcome the Holy Spirit and change the atmosphere of the room. Prayer can usher in healing or heal a heart during unspeakable pain.

Most importantly family, prayer is our spiritual connection to God and to an unseen realm. Prayer truly does change things. The problem is that many people don’t know how to pray. They are afraid that they are doing it incorrectly. Jesus conquered death, hell, and grave so that we could have a personal relationship with Him. God always welcomes a conversation, just start talking to Him like you would any friend. Jesus will meet you where you are, I promise. I pray that you enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you.

Key Scripture:

Ephesians 6:18

New International Version

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, thank you for taking us on this beautiful journey. You have given us everything we need to be powerful people of God. Thank You for every lesson, every reminder, and every moment spent in Your presence throughout this series.

Thank You for the Belt of Truth that keeps us grounded when deception surrounds us. Thank You for the Breastplate of Righteousness that guards our hearts from condemnation and shame. Thank You for the Gospel of Peace that steadies our steps in uncertain times. Thank You for the Shield of Faith that protects us when doubt, fear, and the fiery darts of the enemy try to overtake us. Thank You for the Helmet of Salvation that reminds us that we are redeemed, chosen, and covered by Your grace. Thank You for the Sword of the Spirit, Your Holy Word, that gives us strength, wisdom, and authority.

And tonight, Lord, teach us to remain prayerful people.

Help us to understand that prayer is not weakness — it is our lifeline. Prayer is where burdens are lifted, strength is renewed, peace is restored, and battles are won. Teach us to pray when we are strong and when we are weary. Teach us to pray when we have answers and when we do not understand. Teach us to stay connected to You in every season of life.

Father, help us not to simply wear the armour, but to walk in it daily with confidence, humility, wisdom, and love. Remind us that we were never meant to fight spiritual battles alone. You are with us. You go before us. You strengthen us.

For every person listening tonight, whether they are new in their faith, returning after a difficult season, or have walked with You for many years, let this series be a reminder that they are covered, protected, and deeply loved by You.

As we leave this series, let us leave stronger, wiser, and more aware of who we are in Christ. Let our lives reflect Your light, our words reflect Your grace, and our hearts remain sensitive to Your Spirit.

We surrender every fear, every burden, every unanswered prayer, and every battle into Your hands. We trust You completely.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. And we let it be so and so it is.

Day 142 of 365: Part 6 – The Sword of the Spirit

Fighting Back with the Word of God

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, it is Friday already. We have gotten to the final peace of the Full Armour of God, but there is still one more piece of the armour that we will discuss tomorrow that is the invisible part of the armour. For tonight, we are picking up the final piece.

Key Scripture:

“…and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Ephesians 6:17

Devotional Focus:

The Word of God is both defensive and offensive. Jesus Himself answered temptation with Scripture. When lies come, the Word answers. When fear comes, the Word strengthens. When exhaustion comes, the Word revives.

Life Application:

You cannot fight spiritual battles with empty hands. God’s Word becomes strength for weary souls and for those who know WHO they are and WHOSE they are!!!

Family, I am not a confrontational person EXCEPT when I am doing spiritual warfare. All bets are off when it comes to me standing my ground, in the Lord. I am a worshipper to my core and nothing will ever change that about me.

One of our greatest battle strategies is setting the atmosphere through praise, worship, and prayer, but we will talk more about prayer tomorrow.

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, we thank You for walking with us through each night of this series on the Full Armour of God. You have reminded us that we are never sent into battle empty-handed, but You have equipped us with everything we need to stand strong in faith and victory.

Tonight, we thank You for the Sword of the Spirit, which is Your Holy Word. Teach us to study it, treasure it, and hide it deep within our hearts so that we may rightly divide the Word of Truth. Let Your Word become our strength when we are weak, our wisdom when we are uncertain, and our defense when the enemy tries to speak fear, confusion, or defeat into our lives.

Father, help us not to simply carry the sword, but to train with it daily through prayer, obedience, meditation, and faith. Sharpen our discernment so that we will recognize truth from error and stand firmly upon Your promises. Remind us that victory is not found in our own strength, but in the power of Your Spirit working through us.

Family, may we continue to keep our armour ready for battle. Let us remain watchful, prayerful, and steadfast in our walk with Christ. The enemy may come, but greater is He that is within us than he that is in the world.

Be ready, family. Be ready! Stand clothed in the full armour of God, holding firmly to the Sword of the Spirit, and trusting that the Lord of Hosts goes before us. In Jesus’ mighty and victorious name, Amen. And we let it be and it so!!!!

Day 141 of 365: Part 5 – The Helmet of Salvation

Protecting the Mind

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, tonight we continue our mini nugget series from Ephesians 6:10-18, on the Full Armour of God. We stand soberly as we put on one the final and most important elements of our warfare gear, the Helment of Salvation.

Key Scripture

“Take the helmet of salvation…”

Ephesians 6:17

Devotional Focus:

The battlefield is often the mind. There is nothing that the enemy loves doing more than trying to make believer of Christ second guess everything about themselves, yes, even our salvation.

The enemy will use tactics like fear, overthinking, insecurity, condemnation, and mental exhaustion as spiritual attacks. As believers, we must be vigilant in reminding the enemy that we were bought with a price and sealed with the blood of Jesus, and that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

The mind is a battlefield that must be patrolled every moment of the day. Be ridiculously aggressive about what you allow to enter you mind. Protect the ear and eye gates of your mind. You would be surprised at how destructive one small bad seed can be in the enemy’s hands.

Life Application:

Let the Redeemed of the Lord say so!!!! Your identity is not found in your worst day, your past mistakes, your diagnosis, your failures, or your fears. Your identity is found in Christ. Remember who you are and whose you are. We have been bought with price and we are redeemed.

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You for redeeming us, restoring us, and calling us Your own. Tonight, we place the Helmet of Salvation over our minds and hearts. Guard our thoughts from fear, doubt, confusion, and every lie of the enemy. Remind us that we are forgiven, chosen, loved, and made new through Your grace.

Lord, let the redeemed of the Lord truly say so. Give us boldness to testify of Your goodness and to stand firm in the victory You have already won. When the enemy tries to whisper shame from our past, remind us that we have been redeemed. When discouragement comes, remind us that our hope is secure in You. When we grow weary, remind us that salvation belongs to the Lord.

Cover Your people with peace tonight. Let our minds rest safely in the promise that nothing can separate us from Your love. May we sleep knowing that we are protected, redeemed, and held securely in Your hands. We lift these prayers to you, Jesus. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

And we let it be…And so it is…

Amen, Amen, and Amen

Day 140 of 365: Part 4 – The Shield of Faith

Blocking the Arrows You Never Saw Coming

Greeting, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, tonight we are talking about one of the most important pieces of the armour of God. The Shield of Faith!!!

Key Scripture

Ephesians 6:16
New International Version

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Devotional Focus:

Faith becomes the shield between our hearts and the attacks of fear, doubt, hopelessness, and despair.

Some arrows come suddenly:
  Bad News
  Betrayal
  Disappointment
  Anxiety
  Exhaustion
  Spiritual Discouragement

Faith does not mean we never struggle. It means we continue trusting God while we struggle.

Life Application:

Even trembling faith can still block the enemy’s attacks when placed in God’s hands. The Word of God says that even faith the size of mustard seed can do GREAT things like moving a mountain (Matthew 17:20).

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, thank you for taking the time this week to reassure us that all types of faith can be powerful enough to charge our shields. We all strive for great faith, but we thank you for meeting us where we are. We are so thankful to be able to have a personal relationship with you were we are able to grow our faith and trust in you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer as we lift them sincerely to you.

Day 139 of 365: Part 3 – Shoes of Peace

Walking Steadily Through Chaos

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, tonight is Part 3 of the mini nugget series of the Full Amour of God from Ephesians 6:10-18. Specifically, tonight’s mini nugget is on The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace.

Key Scripture:

“…with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”  Ephesians 6:15

Devotional Focus:

Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is stability in the middle of it. God gives believers spiritual footing so they do not slip when life becomes uncertain.

Life Application:

You may walk through stressful seasons, painful diagnoses, family struggles, financial pressure, or emotional exhaustion, but God’s peace keeps you moving forward one faithful step at a time.

Remember one of the last statements Jesus made regarding Peace in John 14:27?

Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” He is our Peace. Jesus’ promised to always be with us in the form of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. It is for that reason that I begin most of my prayers with, “Spirit of the Living God”.

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, In a world filled with chaos, uncertainty, and distraction, help us to walk daily in Your peace. Let the Shoes of Peace remind us that we were never called to walk in fear, anger, confusion, or worry, but in the calm assurance that You are always with us.

Where there is division, teach us to carry peace. Where there is anxiety, teach us to trust You. Where there is weariness, remind us that Your presence strengthens us for every step ahead.

Lord, make us ready to stand firm in faith and to carry the message of Your love everywhere we go. Let our words, actions, and hearts reflect the peace that only comes through You.

May we walk boldly, steadily, and faithfully, knowing that the Gospel of Peace guides every step. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer as we lift them up to you.

And we let it be…And so it is…

Amen, Amen, and Amen

Day 138 of 365: Part 2 –  The Breastplate of Righteousness

Guarding the Heart

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, as we continue our mini devotional nugget series on the full armour of God, I want you to truly consider the life saving value of each piece of the armour. The Apostle Paul used something that the early followers of Christ Jesus would understand in comparing the full armour of God to the battle armour of Roman soldiers during the time period.

In the traditional soldiers uniform, think of how the breastplate protected vital organs. Spiritually, righteousness protects the heart from shame, guilt, condemnation, and spiritual defeat.

This is not about perfection. It is about living covered by the righteousness of Christ while striving daily to walk uprightly before God.

Key Scripture

“…with the breastplate of righteousness in place…”  Ephesians 6:14

Life Application:

The enemy loves to remind believers of past failures. But God reminds us that grace still covers us and growth is still happening. The Breastplate of Righteousness is the outward symbol of why it is so important to know the Word of God and keep it close to your heart.

Remember when Jesus was tempted in the desert by the enemy? How did Jesus fight? Jesus fought WITH THE WORD OF GOD. Family, even if you meditate and memorize one scripture passage a week about what it means to be righteous through Christ Jesus, think about how well you will be able to cast down every lie the enemy tries to get you to believe. Use your weapons!!!

Let Us Pray

Sweet Holy Spirit, thank you for teaching us practically and spiritually what it means to put on the Righteousness of Christ Jesus as our breastplate. In our heart is where the Holy Spirit dwells. We must protect our relationship with you, Lord, above all else. Continue to whisper wisdom to us through dreams, visions, and through the Word. We seek you with all of our heart, Lord Jesus. We lift this prayer to you. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

And we let it be…And so it is…

Amen, Amen, and Amen

Day 137 of 365: Part 1 – The Belt of Truth

Holding Yourself Together with Truth

Greetings, Precious Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

I’m so excited to be starting this mini series on the Full Armour of God from Ephesians 6:10-18. Each devotional will be short but full of important nuggets that you will be able to remember.

This evening, our focus will be the Belt of Truth.

Key Scripture:

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…”  Ephesians 6:14

In the Roman soldier’s armor, the belt held everything together. Spiritually, truth does the same for us.

The enemy often attacks our mind through lies and half truths. This is why it is so important to know, and be familar with, the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Here are some of the lies the enemy will try to whisper:

You are not enough.”
“God has forgotten you.”
“You will never heal.”
“You are too broken.”

But God’s truth steadies us when emotions and circumstances try to pull us apart.

Life Application:

Truth is not based on how we feel in difficult moments. Truth is rooted in what God says. Even when emotions fluctuate, His promises remain steady.

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, thank you for giving us instructions on how to walk on this battlefield every day. Thank you for giving us the desire to learn your voice and to grow more intimate with you. Thank you for loving us to the Cross, The Grave, and Resurrected and Ascended on High at the right hand of the Father. We lift this prayer humbly to you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

And we let it be…And so it is…

Amen, Amen, and Amen

Day 136 of 365: The Full Armour of God

Standing Firm

Scripture Reference: Ephesians 6:10–18

Greetings, Beloved Family. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

Family, Tonight, before we begin our new series on the Full Armor of God, we pause at the doorway of one of the most powerful passages in Scripture. Over the coming days, we will walk piece by piece through the armor God provides for His children. Not armor made by human hands, but spiritual protection designed for weary hearts, wounded spirits, and faithful believers who are determined to keep standing.

The Apostle Paul reminds us that the battles we face are not always visible. Some struggles come through exhaustion, discouragement, fear, grief, temptation, anxiety, uncertainty, or spiritual heaviness.

Yet God never asks us to fight defenseless. He equips us.

Paul writes:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:10-18 New King James Version)

What stands out most tonight is not the command to fight, but the command to stand.

Sometimes victory looks like simply refusing to give up.

Standing when life feels heavy.
Standing when your body is tired.
Standing when your emotions are overwhelmed.
Standing when tears fall quietly at night.
Standing when you do not have all the answers but still choose to trust God anyway.

The armor of God is not for perfect people. It is for faithful people.

Over the next several days, we will study each piece of this armor together:

The Belt of Truth
The Breastplate of Righteousness
The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace
The Shield of Faith
The Helmet of Salvation
The Sword of the Spirit
And the power of Prayer

Tonight is simply the introduction—the reminder that before tomorrow arrives, God has already prepared what you need to face it.

You are not walking into battle uncovered.
You are clothed in the strength of God.
And even now, after everything you have endured, you are still standing. Amen!!!!

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, tonight we thank You for being our protector, our strength, and our peace. Thank You for never leaving us defenseless in the battles of life. When we are weak, You remain strong. When we are weary, You sustain us.

As we begin this journey through the Full Armor of God, open our hearts to understand not only what the armor is, but why we need it daily. Teach us how to stand firm in truth, faith, righteousness, and peace.

Lord, some of us are fighting battles no one else can see. Some are exhausted emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Yet tonight, we choose to trust that You are covering us even now.

Help us to stand when life becomes difficult. Help us to keep believing when discouragement whispers otherwise. Remind us that victory does not come through our own power, but through Your mighty strength.

Clothe us with Your armor, Lord. Guard our minds. Protect our hearts. Strengthen our spirits. And when we have done all we can do, help us to stand. In the matchless and mighty name of Jesus we pray. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

And we let it be…And so it is…

Amen, Amen, and Amen
