Greetings, Precious Family:

Family, I felt drawn to a certain passage of scripture in Hebrews this evening.

Hebrews 13:1–3 calls us to a practical, lived-out faith—one that moves beyond words into action. It begins simply: “Keep on loving one another.” This isn’t a one-time act but a continual posture. Love in the family of faith is meant to be steady, patient, and visible.

Then the passage stretches us further: “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers…” In a world that often teaches caution and distance, God invites us into generosity and openness. Hospitality isn’t just about opening our homes—it’s about opening our hearts. You never know how God may work through a simple act of kindness. Sometimes, what may feel ordinary carries divine significance.

Finally, we are reminded to remember those in prison and those who are mistreated. This is a call to deep empathy. It asks us to step into the suffering of others—not as distant observers, but as if we were walking beside them. True Christian love refuses to ignore pain; it leans in, prays, supports, and advocates.

13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

Let Us Pray

Spirit of the Living God, Thank You for loving us with a steadfast and unfailing love. Teach us to love others the same way—with patience, kindness, and sincerity. Open our eyes to opportunities to show hospitality, even when it feels inconvenient or uncomfortable. Help us to see people the way You see them.
Lord, soften our hearts toward those who are hurting, forgotten, or mistreated. Remind us to pray for them, care  them, and stand with them in whatever way we can. Give us the courage to act and compassion that reflects Your heart. May our lives be a living expression of Your love—welcoming, generous, and full of grace. In the name, power, authority of Christ Jesus. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
