Day 58 of 365: Exhausted

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Family, you know that my blog is real with transparent feelings and emotions. I’m going to be honest. I am exhausted.

Exhausted describes a state of being extremely tired, fatigued, or having absolutely no energy left. It also means completely used up, depleted, or drained of resources. Common synonyms include worn out, spent, drained, and fatigued.

Yep, that sounds about right.

Here is one thing that I am as well… Hopeful!!

I have learned that no matter how low I get, God is always with me. There is no place I can go where God can’t reach me.

Day 57 of 365: God Specializes

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Family, as we continue through this final week of Black History Month, I want to share a song that is deeply meaningful to me. Earlier today, I called my mother to ask her the name of the song I used to request that she and my father perform for me in Daddy’s den. Even in the early stages of dementia, she responded without hesitation: “It was called God Specializes.”

As she softly spoke the opening line of the song, I felt tears begin to well in my eyes. One of the last times my father was well enough to play the keyboard for me, he and my mother sang this very song together. That moment remains etched in my heart.

Today, I invite us to let the message of this song serve as our devotional —reminding us that God specializes in what seems impossible and meets us with grace, strength, and faithfulness in every season.

Day 56 of 365: This Far By Faith

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by music. My father was an exceptional musician with an expansive collection spanning every genre. My mother often shared that, even as an infant, music or singing was the only thing that could soothe me when I was upset. That remains true today. Music is my love language—especially music that reflects our relationship with God. It brings me the greatest joy, and I cannot count the number of battles I have faced and overcome by allowing music to carry the weight when words fell short.

Through music, I experience God’s presence in a deeply personal way. It becomes a form of prayer—one that quiets my spirit, strengthens my faith, and reminds me that I am never alone. In moments of uncertainty or struggle, music has been God’s instrument of peace, renewal, and reassurance, aligning my heart with His promises and restoring my hope.

Day 55 of 365: Jacob’s Ladder

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Family, as the month of February is about to come to a close, I want to give honor to some of the older gospel hymns. Today, I want to give honor to the hymn Jacob’s Ladder. The hymn is taken from Genesis 28:10-19 and accounts when Jacob is running from Esau because he stole his brother’s blessing and birthright by tricking his father. His mother told him to run, and Genesis 28 is the account of what happened.

Family, what happens when we close a major chapter of our lives or find ourselves in territory we have never been in before?

Whether it is a loss of a loved one or brand new parents bringing home a newborn baby from the hospital? What do we do when facing a new season?

Family, have you ever had a falling out with a friend or family member? Have you ever held a grudge for days, weeks, months, or even years? Have you ever had a falling out with God? How do you make peace? What does the Bible say about it?

23-24 “This is how I want you to conduct yourself in these matters. If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Spirit of the Living God, thank you for reminding us not to hold hate or anger in our hearts toward anyone. May our relationship with you cause us to forgive with a sincere heart. Search our hearts, and if you find anything that is not right, please show us so that we can be right with you. In Jesus name.

Day 51 of 365: He Cares…

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Family, when life gets tough and you feel like throwing in the towel, please remember that God cares for you. Also, remember that there are so many instances when the world watches how we respond to trials, tests, and tribulations. No, I’m not saying to be fake or insincere. What I’m saying is to trust God through whatever you are going through.

When you are tired and want to sit down and throw your hands up, it is perfectly alright to do that. Just remember to take a deep breath, ask the Lord to help you to your feet, and keep moving until you can grab ahold of hope. You are not alone. Remember to ask for help and prayer. The enemy will try to isolate you through depression and anxiety but don’t give in. Call out for help. You are not alone.

If you ever need someone to talk to because you are thinking about giving up, please call 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. You are NEVER ALONE.

Lord God, you are the Bread of Life. Go with us today and be our portion and our sustenance. You are the Great, I Am. Everything we need you already have prepared for us.

Forgive us of our sins against you and our sins against others. I will remember to forgive others as well. Protect us from anything that would try to separate us from you. You Lord deserve all the glory, honor, and power. In Jesus name we do pray.

Day 50 of 365: The Appointed (Kairos) Time

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Family, have you ever put together a jigsaw puzzle or a large 100-piece or 1000 piece  puzzle? The front of the box is this perfect image that you are so excited to put together.

First thing, you open the box, and all the pieces are on the table. Suddenly, you begin to realize that this puzzle may not be as simple as it looked. This puzzle is going to take patience, time, and looking back at the cover to remember what the image is supposed to look like.

What you thought was going to take a few hours has now turned into a few days and maybe even a few weeks, depending on how much time you dedicate to it each day. Each time you sit back down to work on the puzzle, the first thing you do is look at the cover to remind yourself of the completed look. Then, one day, it is finally time to put the last piece of the puzzle into its place. What a wonderful feeling!!! You did it!!!

Family, it is the same with God. He knows where all the puzzle pieces go in our lives. How often are we willing to lay on the table, in stillness, and allow him to put the right pieces into place?

Day 49 of 365: Heavy Weights

Greetings, Precious Family:

May the Peace of the Lord be with you.

Family, have you ever had to carry in a lot of groceries from the car? In school, did you have to tote book bags that weighed a ton? Isn’t it such a relief to put down something that is heavy?

For me, taking off the weight is literal. I have to lose weight because of what the extra unnecessary weight is doing to my body.

The Bible talks about taking the weight off of anything that ensnare or hinders us from our high calling in Jesus Christ.

Spirit of the Living God, thank you for reminding us that there are certain things we were never supposed to carry. Let us remember that we have a higher purpose and calling that is before us. Remind us to do a self check to make sure we are not carrying anything that would slow us down or derail us from our mission in Christ Jesus. It is in the name of Jesus that we lift up this prayer.
