Listening and Obeying…

Beloved Divine Family,

There is gospel song that is speaking to my heart right now. Last week, it was on my heart to go on a liquid fast. I couldn’t figure out why I needed to fast. Consequently, I did not do it. A few days later, I encountered the greatest warfare of my life. My disobedience left me open to attack. Now I’m trying to do damage control for all that happened, just because I wasn’t disciplined enough to listen and obey.

One of the things I always tell you is that this is a blog of MY spiritual journey. I’m transparent so that others will not feel like their journey, as a Christian, is going to be perfect all the time. Having a spiritual life is a mixture of the natural and spiritual and its not always a pretty picture wrapped in a big red bow. It’s hard, beautiful, scary, fulfilling, and filled with tons of grace and mercy.

I don’t want anyone to think that you have to be perfect to be a Christian. Our spiritual walk is an unbelievable adventure, but it’s real. That is why communication with God is so important. Having worship time is essential. Yes, my life is busy with being in college, working full-time, having a family, and preparing to take the National Counselors Exam, but all of those things can push our time with God out. If anything, I should have been seeking God even more.

Sometimes I do wonder if this blog is a bad idea. People see me, a minister, going through so much. How can I make a difference? Even if I touch just one person then being transparent has been worth it all. So I leave you with this…. Nope, I’m not perfect, just redeemed by the Lamb and the word of my testimony. (Revelations 12:11)

One of the great things I have learned about prayer is that if I put a prayer out into the universe then I have to be prepared for the response. When I asked God to help me grow into a higher place of thinking and to remove any part of me that attracts or manifests lower living, God has been faithful in answering my prayer.

The answers have been eye-opening and if I’m being completely honest a little scary because it will require me to let go of the way I navigate parts of my world.

Thank you, Lord, for calling us from a high place to come higher and closer to you. Thank you for making our visions and purposes clear. We are created in the image of love, power, and purpose. We continually run to you and we know that you alone are our heart song. Connect us to and help us be aware of the right people, at the right time, in the right season, for your glory. You are preparing us for our purpose. Let us not be afraid as we transition from student to teacher. Here we are, Lord, Send Us!!!

SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD…

We thank you, Lord, for leading and guiding us in the perfect way that we should go. We confess and affirm that there is no voice, in our lives, more important than yours. We confess and affirm that we will be sensitive to your voice and your guidance. We Thank You, Lord God, that we are always connected to you. We thank you that you will lead us and guide us in a higher way of thinking, speaking, living, and being. The higher way, Lord, is where you are. It is you, Lord, that always instructs us through your spirit and holy scriptures to “Come Up Here…” We let go of lower thinking, responding, and acting. We are partakers of and divinely connected to the Mind of Christ Jesus. Amen and So it is, In Christ forevermore.

I am excited to announce a new format coming to Sacred Journey Devotionals. I have had to really seek God and be sensitive to the direction I was being led. It took some time of quietness and revelation, but I am happy to say that I now understand the path that I should walk. I want to share this prayer/affirmation with you.

Prayer & Affirmation

I COME INTO AGREEMENT WITH GOD.

I think, feel, speak, and react as a reflection of the perfect love of God.

Since the Word of God reminds me that, “As a man thinks, so is he,” the thoughts I now put out into the world will be that of divine love, divine wholeness, divine blessings, and divine encounters. (Proverbs 23:7)

I walk the divine path, in faith, knowing that divine encounters and blessings will find me. I don’t walk alone, goodness and mercy are always with me. (Psalm 23:6)

I walk in knowledge in understanding that when the scripture says, “Let THIS MIND be in you that is ALSO in Christ Jesus,” that it is up to me to change the way I think. (Philippians 2:5)

My mind comes into agreement with all that is good, pure, lovely, true, noble, right, admirable, excellent, and praiseworth. (Philippians 4:8)
