Isaiah 26:2-4

Amplified Bible

“Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that [a]remains faithful and trustworthy.
You will keep in [b]perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both [c]inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].
4“Trust [confidently] in the Lord forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], For the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].

To the Lord of All that is,

I lift a prayer of Thankfulness to you. Thank you for allowing your Perfect Peace to rest in my soul and my heart. No matter what may come my way, Your Peace is the Keeper of my soul. I can rest well, even when surrounded by tests, trials, sickness and even death itself. Through it all, you Lord, are the reason I get up and lay down. You are my source and my strength.

Without you, Lord, where would I be? Please don’t ever take your presence, which is my peace, away from me. Thank you for allowing me to walk in your shadow and grace. Strengthen us, your servants, for the journey ahead, until we meet face to face. We lift this prayer and petition to You, In the precious and perfect name of Jesus, The Christ. And it is so and shall be forever more. Amen, Amen, and Amen again.

Psalm 42

For the director of music. A maskil[c] of the Sons of Korah.

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”
These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
    among the festive throng.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

My soul is downcast within me;
    therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
Deep calls to deep
    in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
    have swept over me.

By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God my Rock,
    “Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
    oppressed by the enemy?”
10 My bones suffer mortal agony
    as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”

11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

Jehovah Shalom,

You are our Peace. You are Who and What we long for, even when we cannot put it into words. You, Lord, know the journey of warfare that I and many others have been going through. I confess that I am tired and weak. It has taken all I have to reach out to you and quietly whisper, “Help.”

I ask for forgiveness for getting tired. I want so much just to hide away and spend a time of retreat with you, but I’m being pulled in so many directions. So in this time of confession, I ask that your love would surround and engulf me. If you are doing a work in me, I say, “Thank You.” I know that it has a purpose, even though it’s not comfortable. However, if I am under attack, show me how to fight, in this new level. I know this level requires warfare weapons that I have not had to use.

Surround me with God-filled warriors that I can glean from. Prepare me and us for your service. Give us wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual understanding to the secret things, in this dimension and any other that is necessary. I lift this prayer up to all who are getting tired, weak, and hurting. Jesus, be the Lifter of our head. In your redeeming name we do pray. It Is so and shall be, according to your will. Amen.
